TLDR;

This proposal funds the sponsorship of a Farcaster Community social event at ETHGlobal NY. The meetup will be hosted at Station3 in New York City. The requested budget for this event is 1.25 ETH.

Description

ETHGlobal is one of the world’s largest community-driven programs in the Ethereum ecosystem focused on bringing together Ethereum enthusiasts and strengthening developer communities via a series of global conferences, hackathons, and workshops, throughout the year.

Farcaster is one of the leading Decentralised Social Web projects in the world with an ever-growing and vibrant community with a deep passion and dedication for evolving the future of the web.

Farcaster @ ETHGlobal NY is a community social event intended to supercharge and showcase the amazing community participating and building in the Farcaster ecosystem during the ETHGlobal festivities.

Budget

We’re proposing Purple cover 1.25 ETH of a total 2.15 ETH budget for this event. @Matthew from Eventcaster, and team members from Base have offered to cover the remaining 0.92 ETH.

We’ve calculated the costs as follows:

• $2000.00 to reserve the space for 120 people for 5 hours, with security, A/V, logistics included.
• $1000.00 to cover drinks and bar staff, free open-bar all night.
• $500.00 to cover food and catering all night, plus any other misc expenses.

Total: $3500.00

2.15 ETH at current prices is valued at around $3500. In case of any leftover funds following event expenses, we intend to send them back to the DAO.

All organizers of the meetup (@emmanuel, @matthew) have agreed to approve/deny reimbursements on behalf of the DAO.
