Purple DAO

TLDR;

This proposal funds the Farcaster side event during ETHIndia 2023 week. The event venue will be around Whitefield, Bengaluru, close to the main hackathon event. Actual venue to be finalized by checking nearby venue availability as well as schedule of other side events. The event is co-hosted by @thechandresh.eth and @nanditmehra (Lighthouse Storage will be sponsoring $1,000 USD).

Description

ETHIndia is world’s biggest Ethereum hackathon hosted in Bengaluru, India, in the month of December. It is organized by Devfolio, one of the most popular hackathon platforms, and ETHGlobal, non-profit foundation that supports growth of the Ethereum ecosystem.

Farcaster is one of the leading Decentralised Social Web projects in the world with an ever-growing and vibrant community with a deep passion and dedication for evolving the future of the web.

Lighthouse is a perpetual file storage protocol on IPFS that allows the ability to pay once and store forever.

Local co-hosts

@thechandresh.eth lives in Mumbai and is working on the event plan and registration. @prado lives in Bengaluru and is working on venue logistics. @nanditmehra and Aditya will be present at the event to represent Lighthouse Storage.

Event schedule (IST)

• 5:30 PM: Reception
• 6 PM: Finger food, drinks, and networking
• 9 PM: End

Budget

We are proposing Purple cover 0.7 ETH of the total 1.3 ETH budget.

We’ve calculated the costs as follow:

• $2,000 for food and drinks
• $200 for photography and videography
• $50 for event banner + special drinks menu design
• $200 for stickers, purple glow sticks, and event banner and menu print

Total: $2,450

$1,000 (~0.53 ETH) will be sponsored by Lighthouse in Fiat.

$200 will be sponsored by @matthew, which will incur 30% Virtual Digital Asset tax by India for swapping crypto to fiat, leaving us with $140 (~0.07 ETH)

Remaining amount: $1,310 (~0.7 ETH)

1 ETH at current price is valued at ~$1,900, which will incur 30% Virtual Digital Asset tax by India for swapping crypto to fiat, leaving us with ~1,330 (~0.7 ETH)

In case of any leftover funds following event expenses, we intend to send them back to the DAO.

A new ⅔ multisig has been created for this proposal:
