Purple DAO

TLDR:

This proposal requests 4 ETH to fund a Farcaster meetup at ETHDenver 2024. The meetup will take place on March 2nd at 5pm. We’ve chosen a venue right in downtown Denver, which we’ll reveal next when RSVPs go live next week.

Overview:

Last year at ETHDenver, a small group of us decided to host a small Farcaster meetup, and it was more successful than anyone expected. Beyond the tons of activity and FOMO it drove on Farcaster, offline it was a night to remember, and tons of IRL friendships were made. This year we hope to follow it up with another incredible meetup.

In the last year, the community has grown significantly, and our #1 priority is to find a venue that allows for anyone who wants to attend to do so. We’ve found a truly awesome venue this year that has capacity for 550 people (more than double last year’s spot) and is right downtown by the train station. We’ll have the space, food, and drinks for four hours, 5-9pm on Saturday.

Budget:

The requested budget for this event is 4 ETH. We’re proposing to use 1 ETH of that total to cover @matthew and @mcbain’s travel to Denver, since we’re going to be on-the-ground planning and executing on the meetup. The remaining 3 ETH will go towards paying for the venue, alongside generous sponsorships from Base, POAP, and Privy.

All-in, the subtotal for the venue is $20k, and with tax and tip it will likely come out to $27k. If there are any funds left over, we’ll contribute them to this year’s FarCon costs.

Multisig

A new ⅔ multisig has been created on Ethereum mainnet at the address eth:0x1D57753ac029fe06f79271F1aB30dF389904Dbf1, with @matthew, @mcbain, and @ccarella as signers. We’ll use this multisig to collect funds and approve reimbursements.
