Gas Hawk 5 eth grant for public scaling infrastructure
Summary
GasHawk solves expensive and volatile transaction fees by providing a free RPC that submits transactions when gas is cheap - helping scale ethereum and save its users fees.
By monitoring the network and predicting the optimal time to submit a transaction, GasHawk can save users and institutions up to 95% on fees. Visit GasHawk.io to learn more. It’s cutting-edge technology has the potential to transform how users interact with the Ethereum network, saving them both time and money. The average cost savings are 25 - 30%.
As a non-custodial service, GasHawk aims to help users and institutions optimize their transaction cost during periods of high and volatile gas fees. We currently provide minimized transaction costs, eliminate stuck transactions, prevent transaction failures and ward off front running or sandwiching. GasHawk is a MEV resistant, gas rebate RPC layer with the capacity to grow our product offerings and value add exponentially.
GasHawk is designed for transactions with a minimum time window of one minute and offers greater potential savings for longer deadlines. By targeting local minima in gas prices, our service ensures users pay the lowest possible fee, even during periods of low fees. GasHawk is free to use and easily accessible by connecting your Metamask to our RPC. Additionally, we offer an SDK and a REST API - more information can be found in our documentation.
In summary, GasHawk presents a powerful solution to the problem of high and volatile transaction fees on the Ethereum network. We are a category defining startup that offers an order of magnitude improvement to the status quo of on-chain transactions. We help users and institutions save up to 95% on transaction fees and optimize their transactions, making their experience on the Ethereum network more efficient, cost-effective and secure.
I believe that this is a critical public good, as it makes Ethereum more accessible to more people in terms of cost, and also helps balance the network load. I am requesting a 5 ETH grant to help the team keep offering the service for free and expand its effectiveness.
Why is it a public good?
- Balancing the network load helps scale Ethereum, which is for the good of the people.
- Saving users money is for the good of the people and in our best interest.
- The RPC infrastructure is free, and using it lowers gas fees for other people transacting on the network, not only its own users. GasHawk is non-rivalrous and non-excludable.
Stats
- +$7,000 saved by GasHawk users
- Cost of hosting the infrastructure: ~$800 per month
- Additional daily transaction growth of Ethereum if everyone used this balancer service: ~20%
- I have personally saved more than 70% of default estimated gas costs on some transactions using this free service
- GasHawk has successfully processed 7,364 transactions for over 2,900 users since launch in November
I’m hoping to take this live later this week as I think there is broad support from the private convos I’ve had with a handful of folks and feedback we’ve gotten.
