Art Golden Gai is a cultural initiative in Shibuya, Tokyo, celebrating the fusion of traditional and digital art. A collaboration between NOX Gallery—Japan’s first physical NFT gallery—and Superchief NFT, The world’s first physical NFT gallery, this event will feature curated works by renowned Japanese and international artists, such as Claire Silver, Robert Mallary, Pepelangelo, and Sutu. As the venue prepares for demolition in February 2025, Art Golden Gai transforms its final month into a public good, offering workshops, installations, and cultural events while digitally archiving the space through video and book formats which will be forever onchain.

Located in one of the world’s busiest centers, Shibuya, Art Golden Gai provides a vital “third space” for community engagement, learning, and artistic innovation. The initiative emphasizes inclusivity and accessibility while preserving the venue’s cultural legacy onchain for future generations.

Why is this a Public Good?

Non-exclusionary Access: All art installations in Nox, and workshops are open to the public, ensuring accessibility and participation for everyone.

Digital Preservation:The venue’s legacy will be archived on-chain through 3D scans and NFTs, creating a permanent, open-access resource for future generations.

Community Connection: By offering a “third space,” the event encourages collaboration and social cohesion in one of Tokyo’s busiest neighborhoods.

Cost Breakdown 1.25 ETH | Public Goods Day: Education around Public Goods. In collaboration with the local institutions such as, Tokyo University we will be discussing ways we can bring Art as a public good to more physical spaces, and educate on conservation efforts that can be done Digitally.

1.25 ETH | Catering at Public Goods Day, NFT Japan, Art Golden Gai, & Hackathon: Cost of Food & Drink for IRL Workshops at Art Golden Gai building & supporting events.

1.15 ETH | Venue Transformation: Preparing the historic building for the event, and adding Pnouns Assets within the building as well as the Tokyo Tower to raise awareness of Public Goods & Public Nouns.

1 ETH: Administrative Operations: Equipment Rental, transportation, coordinating event logistics, staff, and management.

0.45 ETH | Workshop Materials: Supplies and equipment for interactive sessions, NFT Minting Fees, Staff, etc.
