Nounish Cup #2 ran online via Nouns.GG. Eight teams, each with 5 players and 2 stand-ins, were invited from 24 registered, delivering 15+ hours of streams with 140 average viewers, a 198 peak, and 393 total hours watched. We drew 578 Nouns GG newcomers, added 34 followers, and minted Lil Nouner 821. The prize pool hit a 20% ROI, with 6 of 8 payments as individual USDC transactions. Full details here.

Who’s Behind This

I’m Chompix, a grassroots Dota2 organizer who entered web3 in October 2024. I’ve run Nounish Cup #1 and #2, growing 578 Nouns GG users and hitting a 20% ROI in Season 2. My events, detailed at Liquipedia, have launched players from Tier 4 to Tier 1, with regulars like Hokori (Liquipedia) reaching TI 2022.

• Schedule: Swiss Group Stage (Day 1), Single Elimination Playoffs (Day 2)
• Game Format: Captains Mode, Bo1 matches, Bo3 Grand Final
• Streaming: At least 8 of 80 players (16 teams of 5) streaming POVs for 3-10 hours each, plus a 3-hour Grand Final live on Nouns Esports Twitch with duo commentators picked by a second Nouns GG round

The 0.3 stETH fund will be swapped to approximately 700 USDC.

  • Participants can request USDC payments for ease.
• Production Crew: $200 USDC
  • Producer: $100 USDC (keeps the Grand Final live-stream smooth)
  • Duo Commentators: $50 USDC each (add energy and insight)
• Operational Costs: $0 (covered by Chompix via Nouns GG Streamers Flows)
• Gas Fees: Covered by Chompix if funds suffice.
• Extra USDC: Goes to Chompix as an admin tip.

Why Not Lil Nouns as Payment?

We’re using $500 USDC for prizes to meet Liquipedia’s $500 USD minimum for notable tournaments. Handing out Lil Nouns as NFTs could force ownership, which we want to avoid. Players already vote on teams and commentators through Nouns GG rounds. Owning a Lil Noun earns extra XP on Nouns.GG, giving more say in those votes. We’d rather players buy Lil Nouns with their winnings if they see the value, building real interest instead of mandating it.
