I’ve built Noundry studio

and Noundry gallery

among a handful of other Nounish projects.

What’s this?

Noundry Studio is a pixel editor focused on developing new traits for Nouns Noundry Gallery is a place to share your traits, and also a tool to publish proposals that add new Traits to the DAO

They only support Nouns artwork. Lil Nouns are missing out on all the fun.

We should change that.

I’m requesting 3 (st)ETH to port the codebase to support Lil Nouns artwork and proposals, deploy lil-studio.noundry.wtf and lil.noundry.wtf, and maintain them for as long as there are people using them.

I’ll also set up a Farcaster and/or Discord bot to showcase new submissions

Lil Nouns have been living in the shadow of Nouns long enough. At the current auction prices, lil nouns can work as collectibles, IF they have fun and distinctive artwork.

Let’s diversify the artwork and stand apart from merely mirroring the Nouns artwork, so that Lil Nouns can develop its own taste and vibe. There’s a lot to explore in the lil aesthetic to make it unique.

I intend to deliver it within the month of March.

Bonus for lil app maintainers

If you’re maintaining a lil nouns app, you should be aware of the `@lilnounsdao/assets` package, which holds the artwork. Whenever a new trait is pushed to the collection, this package needs to be updated to include the new artwork, and then all apps using it need to upgrade to the latest version and deploy a new version of the app.

That’s pretty cumbersome, and Nouns have their apps breaking every time a new trait makes it onchain

To solve that, I’ve developed a drop-in replacement that ensures the apps are always up-to-date with the onchain artwork without requiring new deployments.

I’ll also maintain one of those for the Lil Nouns artwork, so that apps can stay up to date with the new traits, and we can avoid broken windows in the ecosystem.
