TL;DR

Lil Gnars 2 is a two-days (December) event combining skateboarding challenges and environmental awareness, aimed at inspiring children in challenging situations. The event will visit skate parks in Niterói and Morro da Providência and feature partnerships with local social projects. Activities include skate lessons, mentorship, environmental education with a mangrove cleanup, and community-building games. The goal is to foster skills, confidence, and environmental responsibility while creating a fun and supportive atmosphere.

Introduction

The second Lil Gnars event is an opportunity to introduce skateboarding to children in challenging situations, creating a space where they can have fun, learn, and grow. Over the course of two days, we will visit different skateparks and locations throughout the city, including the Horto Skatepark in Niterói and the Morro da Providência Skatepark. Throughout this journey, we will maintain a focus on safety, learning, and building a friendly community.

We are excited to collaborate with local social projects such as CDD Skate Arte in Cidade de Deus and Santo Skate in Morro da Providência. These partnerships will help us reach more children and make a positive impact in their lives.

With the support of Lil Gnars and Lil Nouns, the event will benefit from extensive experience, support, and innovative ideas that will make a real difference. This collaboration strengthens our mission and broadens the impact we aim to achieve. Beyond teaching kids how to skate, how the plastic need to be picked up in nature our goal is to provide a space where they feel motivated and supported, make friends, face challenges, and build confidence.

This event is more than just a learning experience — it’s an opportunity to inspire and create lasting memories. We want the kids to leave with new skills and, perhaps, a newfound passion for skateboarding and all the positive experiences it brings.

What we have already done

We take children from communities like Cidade de Deus, Gigoia Island, and Terreirão to new places that expand their horizons. We introduce them to a world filled with friendship and knowledge as we explore the historic downtown Rio, which dates back to 1500. We also distributed 15 decks designed by Lil Gnars at Aterro do Flamengo beach, right in front of Pão de Açúcar. This event brought local parents into the skateboarding scene, where they enjoyed barbecues and participated in a cleanup. We witnessed the kids’ incredible transformation—within just a few hours, they overcame their fears and became comfortable performing tricks. Bonds of friendship formed among everyone involved. Additionally, we created a large mural inspired by Lil Gnars, and everyone loved the stickers we shared!

Event Objectives

• Exploring Skate Spots: Introduce different skate locations in Rio de Janeiro, highlighting the importance of safety while traveling between spots.
• Skill Development in Skateboarding: Offer children the opportunity to enhance their skills through tailored challenges, boosting their confidence and encouraging them to overcome obstacles.
• Mentorship and Support: Foster connections with experienced skaters who will act as mentors, while also encouraging parents to participate and support their children’s development throughout the program.

Sustainbility: Teach the Kids How Important is keep the nature without trash. And take care of Nature.

A few months ago, Deathcat, as a mariner, collaborated with the Gigoia Island community to clean up mangrove trash and raise awareness about the importance of keeping waste away from water bodies. We believe this initiative is crucial for teaching kids about sustainability and environmental stewardship. In this upcoming edition, we will bring children from various areas to explore the mangroves and experience the vibrant wildlife. They will participate in a cleanup effort on a beautiful morning, riding boats with Deathcat and helping nature thrive.

1. Practical Skate Lessons: Basic and intermediate lessons conducted by qualified professionals, helping children take their first steps or improve their existing skills.

3. Group Dynamics and Games: Activities aimed at strengthening teamwork and fostering friendships among participants.
4. Trick Demonstrations: Performances by professional skaters to motivate and showcase what can be achieved with dedication and practice.

Yann: Pro Skater Street Swang. Pacience. Criativity. Always playing and Smiling. He have his own videos. Owner of NOGENTA.

Mingau: He is the Owner of CDD Skate art, social project. He is Break Dance Teacher too. Always pulling up the kids for complete objectives.
