Facilitate Onboarding Through Auction by Trait Selection

Hello, Lil Nouns community,

I’m Milad, a dedicated contributor to vibrant innovation within our community. I’ve had the privilege of steering and participating in several projects within our ecosystem, where my experience with DAOs has been one of passion and active involvement. I’m excited to join in the many exciting endeavors and look forward to collaborating with others on them.

TL;DR

In a nutshell, the proposal is about building an on-chain trait hunter mechanism with implementability on both Ethereum and its L2 solutions, with deliverables being smart contracts, front-end interfaces, bots, and Farcaster frames, which will be open-source and completed in three phases over six months, requiring a total budget of 12 ETH.

Introduction

This proposal aims to address the challenges faced by new users in selecting desired traits for Lil Nouns and starting auctions, thus streamlining the onboarding process. I propose an innovative, on-chain, autonomous, and permissionless solution that enhances user experience by allowing users to define their favorite traits for Lil Nouns. It also provides an estimated cost for settling and bidding in auctions. Additionally, my solution focuses on creating reusable infrastructure for Lil Nouns and other Nounish DAOs, ensuring scalability and efficiency across Ethereum mainnet or L2 solutions.

Project Goals

  1. Ease of Onboarding: Simplify the auction process for new users by enabling them to effortlessly select desired Lil Nouns traits.
  2. Autonomous and Permissionless: Develop an on-chain system that allows users to define their preferences and participate in auctions autonomously.
  3. Reusable Infrastructure: Build a framework that can be adopted by Lil Nouns and other Nounish DAOs, ensuring compatibility with Ethereum mainnet and L2 solutions.
  4. Transparency and Open Source: All deliverables, including smart contracts, subgraphs, front-end interfaces, bots, and Farcaster frames, will be open-source, promoting transparency and community collaboration.

Deliverables

Phase 1: Smart Contracts Design and Development (Months 1-2)

  • Objective: Design and develop robust smart contracts to enable users to define their favorite Lil Nouns traits and automate auction bidding.
  • Deliverables:
    • Smart contracts for trait selection and auction bidding.
    • Documentation and test cases for developed contracts.

Phase 2: Front-End Development and Testing (Months 3-4)

  • Objective: Build an intuitive front-end interface for users to interact with smart contracts easily and conduct thorough testing to ensure reliability and user-friendliness.
  • Deliverables:
    • User-friendly front-end application.
    • Integration of subgraphs for enhanced data querying capabilities.

Phase 3: Bots and Farcaster Frames Development (Months 5-6)

  • Objective: Develop bots for automating auction processes and frames for Farcaster to enhance user engagement and experience.
  • Deliverables:
    • Bots for auction monitoring and automating processes.
    • Interactive frames for Farcaster to display traits and statuses.

Budget and Funding

The total ask for this project is 12 ETH, allocated for the three phases as follows:

  • Phase 1: 4 ETH for smart contracts design and development.
  • Phase 2: 4 ETH for front-end development and testing.
  • Phase 3: 4 ETH for bots and Farcaster frames development.

Recent Contributions

  • Awesome Lil Nouns: I curated a comprehensive list of resources, providing invaluable insights into the Lil Nouns project for fostering greater community engagement.

  • Lil Nouns Center: I played my role in updating the infrastructure and maintaining the community site, ensuring it remains a vital hub for our projects and tools.

  • Lil Nouns Bots: I developed and maintained a collection of ten bots designed to support and enhance the DAO’s operations, with two of these bots receiving funding for their development.

  • Lil Nouns Click: I introduced a solution to resolve the visibility issues of our governance link on social media, improving accessibility and functionality across our platforms.

  • Lil Nouns Template: I built a simple yet powerful website template to assist developers in starting creating Web3 sites, contributing to the ecosystem’s growth.

  • LilNouns Top Voters: I developed a platform to recognize and celebrate the most active members of our governance process, highlighting the importance of community involvement.

  • Lil Nouns Pics: I facilitated the selection and download of the pictures to enhance our visibility and accessibility for users and developers.

  • Lil Nouns Camp: I migrated and maintained Lil Nouns Camp’s accessible functionalities, ensuring our community has a reliable tool for searching and reviewing past proposals.

  • Lil Nouns Frames: I’ve built a few and am working on a collection of Farcaster Frames built on top of Lil Nouns resources.

Among several other open-source projects, these projects reflect my unwavering commitment to our community and illustrate my capabilities in delivering solutions that enhance our ecosystem.
