Lil Nouns DAO

tl:dr: Fund Builders, Proliferate the Meme and Grow the Treasury (160 Eth)

Feedback heard and budget adjusted for a 4 month allocation instead of 10 months.

I love Lil Nouns and want to see it thrive. We are at a critical juncture where there is debate over funding builders vs. only spending funds to buy Nouns. Buying Nouns will not drive more engagement or more Lil Nouns auction sales. But others disagree.

So I present to you a two options currently on the table: OPTION 1 Revised: Fund Builders and make strategic choices to grow the Lil Nouns DAO OPTION 2 Revised: Spend half the treasury on Nouns (see the Prop that follows this one)

OPTION 1: Fund Builders, Proliferate the Meme and Grow Lil Nouns DAO

This option is a lower budget but still leans into proliferation and creating benefits for holding Lil Nouns. Currently there are very little rewards to holding Lils – this aims to change that via existing pods in Lil Nouns to create excitement and incentives for those outside the Nouns ecosystem to jump in via Lil Nouns.

Funds to be used as follows: 50 Eth: Prop House 2 monthly mandated rounds open only to Lil Nouns holders (benefit to holders):

4 Eth: Lil Nouners Mandated Prop House round open monthly only to Lil Nouns holders to propose ideas for fun weekly activities in the Lil Nouns discord. Fund 4 x .25 each month 4 months with one activity event each week to drive engagement in the discord. And to literally just have fun.

4 Eth: Lil Nouners Mandated Prop House round open monthly only to Lil Nouns holders to propose ideas for Lil Nouns proliferation. Fund 4 x .25 each month for 4 months 32 Eth: for open Prop House rounds TBD by Lil Nouns Prop House team 10 Eth: Admin budget for spaces promotion and team activities

50 Eth: Lil Funding 40 Eth funding pool managed by Lil Funding team, Community Manager, Mods and Lil Nounders

Rolling funding using Address Form and Address Board with a focus on retro funding as well as proactive proliferation of Lil Nouns with a goal of minimum 10 Eth spend each month.

10 Eth admin budget for team and tools such as Address Form/Board

60 Eth: Content Pod, Lil Reps AND Droposals (to be managed by Content Pod and Lil Reps) 10 Eth: 1 NFT or Edition Drop by Lil Nouns launched as proposals. 10 Eth budget for each drop including 5 eth artist/team payment, marketing funds and deployment. Each drop should allow for Lil Nouns holders to have first access and lower mint price as presale as a benefit to holders (or airdrop ideally if budget allows). Funds for the drop go to the DAO treasury in a 50/50 split with the artist. Drops could be art, video, music, etc. Specifics to be determined by Content Pod and Lil Reps.

30 Eth: Content Pod additional budget for marketing, DAO tools, other governance maintenance, buying Lil Nouns for giveaways etc. I recommend that some of these funds be allocated to the Lil Reps wallet once more clear mandates are established.

10 Eth: Admin for Content Pod and Lil Reps to serve as curators for this project and engage artists from both inside and outside the Lil Nouns ecosystem. This will be more time consuming than current responsibilities but also more fun.

10 Eth: The Daily Lil experiment – Daily 30 minute Twitter Spaces where hosts settle and start the Lil Nouns auction using Lil Block Party and the winner of that specific Lil Noun gets a special edition only available for the Daily Lil auction winners. Budget the Daily Lil: 4 Eth: Artist Payments for Limited Edition Creation (1 Eth x 4) 1 Eth: Artist Payment for daily POAPs 1 Eth: settling costs for one month 4 Eth: Spaces Hosts via coordinape round each week

A treasury will only drive auctions if there is activity and excitement. This prop seeks to do just that: put the treasury to work in order to grow it.

It’s up to you: Vote Option 1 and see if we can really take off OR Option 2 buy more nouns and see where that goes. OR vote against both and keep the status quo which frankly just isn’t fun.

And I encourage others to put their own props in, including the Lil Nounders. But it’s time to have this discussion and decide what we want this DAO to be. I would even welcome vetos on both these props by Lil Nounders with some communication around the direction they’d like to see.
