As part of our mission of creating an accessible onramp to Nouns, we propose reinstating our pool of funds to encourage women and non-binary creators, devs, and artists to build within Lil Nouns. This pool of capital will be sent to a Gnosis Safe controlled by a small group of Lil Nouners known as the Lil Sisters.

Why continue funding Lil Sisters?

Lil Sisters began as an easily found and supportive place for female and non-binary builders to access funding in the Lil Nouns. It quickly became an integral part of the Nounish ecosystem and a meaningful extension of Lil Nouns DAO. In the last five months, Lil Sisters Fund has successfully funded 18 proposals that directly helped teams of builders. Our proliferation efforts have resulted in 143,700 impressions for our Tweets, with the Lil Sisters community growing through weekly Twitter spaces, public coordination meetings, social connections on and offline, and ongoing creation of CC0 nounish illustrations for promotions and POAPs. Lil sisters are not only a group that funds proposals; they are individually engaged members of the Lil Nouns community. The team is dedicated to proliferating nounish projects and ideas through conversations, opportunities, onboarding, and multimedia content. Lil Sisters has been included in other artists’ work, been written about in blog posts, and interviewed by Nounish and Stoopid Buddy. The Lil Sisters fund has allowed the production of CC0 nounish musical pieces, podcasts, coloring books, women’s soccer team, surfing school and more. We continue to onboard fresh talent into the Nounish ecosystem.

Twitter Spaces

While a TNS show is not our primary mission, to promote the Lil Sisters funding rounds, the team began hosting a SoapBox on The Noun Square. This has grown to be a vital marketing arm for Lil Nouns. With weekly Twitter Spaces that include interviews with project founders both inside and outside of the Nouniverse, we reach new communities while providing guests reach to our audience. The weekly POAP art by Ilustradora has made the collectible aspects extra special with the art becoming well known as representative of both Lil Sisters and Lil Nouns. Between Lil Sisters Spaces and art by Ilustradora, Lil Sisters has become key for the brand expansion of Lil Nouns.

Fund Management

Sisters budget: 50 ETH

The committee’s gnosis safe will require 3 of 5 Lil Nouners to sign, with Lil Nouns DAO acting as a largely symbolic owner and backup. We recommend keeping the signer group small with a team of experienced signers and adding more as we scale up operations and the pool size.

Team rotation In order to spread knowledge, boost decentralization and to ensure the pod is not overly reliant on any single member, member rotation is encouraged. A single pod member will be substituted at a time, not to create disruption in the work flow and maintain stability. There will be an open aplication process for the new team member, advertised on Twitter and discord. Applications will be reviewed and 3 candidates will be selected for interviews with the entire team. The first team member to open its seat for replacement will be B (@beautyandpunk).

Budget breakdown

• 25 ETH for proposal rounds (5 rounds of 5 ETH each)
• 25 ETH for marketing and operations, which includes but is not limited to:
  • Lil Sisters’ monthly compensation (Around 0.5 ETH for taking part in weekly meetings, planning and hosting weekly Twitter Spaces, reading and giving feedback on proposals from all funding rounds, answering questions in discord, etc.)
  • Admin (Currently Mimix) monthly compensation (up to 2 ETH) for Twitter management, artist coordination, funding round coordination, etc.
  • Ilustradora’s monthly compensation (0.5 ETH - primary creator for all of our Twitter account illustrations, announcements, and weekly POAPs given away in our Spaces)
  • Discretionary funds for sponsorships of other podcasts/spaces such as BS Radio’s Spaces with Betty from DeadFellaz
  • Lil Nouns aquisition for giveaways during Twitter Spaces

Compensation is flexible at Lil Sisters. Those with lower work load, less compensation is agreed on, team members that take on more work, compensation are adjusted accordingly. We sometimes agree to give away our compensation to fund more builders or allocate to fast-moving sponsorship opportunities. All admin funds are accounted for on our notion page.

Timeframe

• If the Lils decide to fund this proposal, we’ll choose a date a few weeks into the future for the next round and start marketing for builders to prepare their projects and proposals.
• The duration of this project is for 5 rounds that are run for 5-6 months from date of approval, approximately early Feb 2023 - early/late July 2023.
• Any funds not used by the end of this period will either be carried forward (in the case of another extension of Lil Sisters being approved) or returned to the DAO.
• The team is aiming for monthly rounds, at the discretion of the Lil Sisters team, taking dao feedback into account.
