Lil Nouns DAO

Description

TLDR: I have been writing the Lil Nouns Weekly Newsletter as a public good for the community for 25 weeks.

I am requesting to continue writing the Weekly Newsletter at a 20% lower rate, for the next 3 months (Dec, Jan, Feb) — for a total of 10.4 ETH.

Previous Prop (Proposal 66) passed with 1030 For, 0 Against, 9 Abstained.

The purpose of the newsletter is to curate, synthesize, summarize, and educate people—both internal and external to the Lil Nouns DAO—on all things (Lil) Nounish happening in our community each week. We share stories of builders, props, and conversations across the Lil Nouniverse, so that readers don’t miss each week’s biggest events.

The Newsletter has shipped every Sunday for the past 25 weeks.

Here is what we’ve achieved since launch:

• 233 subscribers (screenshot below)
• 54% average open rate (average)
• 4,000+ page views to the Newsletter
• 342 Twitter followers (https://twitter.com/lilnounsnews)

I believe the public good will increase in value, as more members are on-boarded into the community (curation and synthesis will become critical as we scale, as well as ensuring the highest number of Lils are showing up to vote on Props on chain and on Prop.House).

I also plan to leverage the Weekly Newsletter within Content Pod. There can be a lot of noise in Discord, and relying on Twitter means we’re relying on an algorithm we can’t control — having direct access to inboxes once/week is super important to make sure we are staying top-of-mind within the Lil Nouns community.

Scope

“One Newsletter, Every Sunday, Forever”

It is basically the same scope as last time (Prop 66). The only minor changes are: 1) I plan to put more emphasis on Twitter threads and 2) I plan to work more closely with content pod. But otherwise, the scope remains the same as it’s always been:

• Curate information happening in Nouns DAO
• Keep our community up to date with Lil Nouns DAO activities/initiatives
• Ensure high engagement on Proposals and other votes
• Synthesize important information across the ecosystem
• Recap past events, and make community members aware of upcoming events
• Proliferate the Noun meme to members outside of the DAO

Funds Requested

Since we are in a bear market, and thanks to the example of Lil Al and others who have roles that require recurring pay, I am choosing to decrease my ask. Previously, the DAO paid 1 ETH per episode. I am decreasing my ask by 20%, down to .8 ETH per episode.

• Total: 10.4 ETH (.8 ETH/episode x 13 weeks)
• Period: December 2022 (4 Sundays) + January 2023 (5 Sundays) + February 2023 (4 Sundays)
