TLDR: Lil Saturn and Corgie have been writing the Lil Nouns Weekly Newsletter as a public good for the community for the last 14 weeks. Corgie has decided to transition out of writing the Newsletter, but Lil Saturn (hello, that’s me! 👋) will continue to ship it every Sunday.

Third-time’s a charm!

First, we attempted to go on chain with a Proposal (Prop 48) last week, and had a unanimous “For” (except for one voter), but we did not hit Quorum.

Then, I went back on chain for attempt #2 and the Prop passed (Prop 58)! BUT (big lesson learned) the Sablier Stream that was part of the contract, had a payment in the past, so the Prop could not be Executed :( (Sablier Stream has updated their docs and v.2 will not break contracts in this way).

So, I’m back for a third time, the only thing different: because it’s now been three more weeks, there are three more weeks of retro-funding included here, and then 6 weeks after that.

I am requesting retro-funding for the weeks I have shipped and not been paid (7 weeks), plus 6 weeks into the future — 13 weeks/“episodes” total.

Summary

The purpose of the newsletter is to curate, synthesize, summarize, and educate people—both internal and external to the Lil Nouns DAO—on all things (Lil) Nounish happening in our community each week. We share stories of builders, props, and conversations across the Lil Nouniverse, so that readers don’t miss each week’s biggest events.

We have shipped the weekly newsletter every Sunday for the past 14 weeks (feels like it’s been 3 years, not 3 months! ha! Time in web3 is wild!).

Here is what we’ve achieved since launch:

• 209 subscribers (screenshot below)
• 68% open rate (average over time)
• 3,741 page views to the Newsletter (views are increasing week over week)
• 282 Twitter followers (https://twitter.com/lilnounsnews)

I believe the public good will increase in value, as more members are on-boarded into the community (curation and synthesis will become critical as we scale, as well as ensuring the highest number of Lils are showing up to vote on Props on chain and on Prop.House).

I also believe that the Content Pod can benefit from leveraging the Weekly Newsletter. There can be a lot of noise in Discord, and relying on Twitter means we’re relying on an algorithm we can’t control — having direct access to inboxes once/week is super important to make sure we are staying top-of-mind within the Lil Nouns community.

Scope (same as the last 16 weeks)

• Curate information happening in Nouns DAO
• Keep our community up to date with Lil Nouns DAO activities/initiatives
• Ensure high engagement on Proposals and other votes
• Synthesize important information across the ecosystem
• Recap past events, and make community members aware of upcoming events
• Proliferate the Noun meme to members outside of the DAO

Funds Requested

• Total: 13 ETH (7 ETH for retro, 6 ETH streamed continuously going forward)
• Retro: 4 ETH for September (1 ETH per post - 4 Sundays in Sept.) + 3 ETH for October (1 ETH per post - first 3 Sundays in Oct.)
• Looking forward: 2 ETH for October (the last two Sundays of October, which are in the future) + 4 ETH for November (1 ETH per post - 4 Sundays in Nov.)
