Summary

We propose to establish a monthly limit of 300K AST that can be withdrawn by contributors without the manual, time-consuming, and error-prone work that is currently required.

Specification

Currently, AirSwap contributors are tipped $30K in AST per month. This means that for every month, core contributors must calculate the amount in AST less any protocol fees (currently 14% of total protocol fees) and then create and communicate a transaction request to the Treasury Wallet owners via Slack. Only once 3 treasury owners sign do the AST transfer to the Ops Wallet.

We instead propose to establish a monthly spending limit of 300K AST that can be withdrawn by contributors anytime each month. 300K is based on the average amount over the last 12 months.

With the acceptance of this AIP a transaction will be submitted to Treasury Wallet owners to create the spending limit with the recipient address of the Ops Wallet (0xf8bB149F9525875Fa47B8CC632d368EB600FAba3).

Rationale

AirSwap endeavours to be a programmatic organization with automation and incentives that drive all necessary operations, including tips to contributors. The current process is manual, time-consuming, and error-prone—and our Safe provides functionality to serve exactly this purpose. We should use it.
