Proposal Background

As we all know, regularly maintained and constantly updated documentation is not only important but mandatory, especially for Decentralized Autonomous Organizations. Over the past few months, we have conversed quite a bit about this. I have written some bits and pieces, but the uploading process is daunting to me, even though Txbi explained it to me. I have a feeling this might be the case for many people. Therefore, I suggest we have one person to go to get the documentation updated, uploaded, and maintained: The Log Keeper!

With this role in place, we will definitely enhance Unlock DAO’s governance and operational transparency as well as contribute to a smoother onboarding process.

Role Definition

The Log Keeper will act as the custodian of all official records and documents related to Unlock DAO. I envision this individual to be responsible for:

• Uploading and updating documentation on the Unlock DAO site and other relevant platforms.
• Ensuring all records are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with our governance standards.
• Report to the Lead Steward if records seem out of order or need updating.
• Archiving old records and maintaining an accessible and organized digital repository.
• Enhancing the DAO’s transparency by making information readily available to members and the public.
• Propose improvements in the creation of new documents or necessary processes.

Importance and Immediate Benefits

• Enhanced Transparency: By keeping thorough records, the Log Keeper will ensure that all DAO members have access to the information needed to make informed decisions, thereby enhancing trust and accountability within the community.
• Improved Governance: Accurate and accessible records are fundamental to effective governance. They help track decisions, understand historical context, and provide a basis for future actions.
• Operational Efficiency: Streamlined documentation processes will improve operational efficiency, making onboarding new members easier, referencing past decisions, and managing the DAO’s activities.

Proposed Rewards

The Log Keeper will be compensated per action as follows:

• Upload & Markup Editing - 8 UDT per finalized Upload
• Updating of existing records - 4 UDT per updated article

The payout will be on the monthly Role Payout schedule for all official DAO Members who hold a role in the Unlock DAO Ecosystem.

Candidate Criteria & Suggestion

I want to suggest @Txbi from our community for this position. He is well-versed in how the protocol works, is constantly up to date on what happens in the DAO (even when not able to attend calls), and feels passionate about where everything is headed. Since he was the one who explained the process to me, I know firsthand that he will have no problem technically speaking on keeping our documentation well-maintained and organized.

Criteria for Selection:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven experience in data management or archival work.
• Understanding of DAO operations.
• Proven experience in handling GitHub-powered documentation

Evaluation of Performance:

• Accuracy and timeliness of documentation uploaded.
• Ease of access and organization of the digital repository.
• Positive feedback from the DAO community regarding the availability and usefulness of documentation.
