Threshold Network

Following the week of nominations and our “meet and greet” call with candidates on April 2nd, we now commence the voting for our inaugural Threshold Committee (call recording is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uTdTsv5l-80).

Here’s how this election will work, given the prescription in TIP-103 for 6 paid Committee seats and 3 unpaid volunteer seats. After the voting concludes, candidates with the highest vote weight will be offered the 9 seats on the Threshold Committee, but their seat type (paid or volunteer) will be determined by both vote weight and candidate preference.

The candidates will be considered in order of highest vote weight received. Each will be assigned a paid seat if: • They stated a willingness to serve in a paid role and • At least one of the 6 paid seats remains unfilled Once all 6 paid seats are filled, the remaining elected candidates who have indicated they are open to serving as volunteers will be assigned the 3 volunteer seats based on highest vote weight.

In other words, if a candidate is unable to serve as a volunteer and no paid seats remain, they will not be seated, and the next eligible candidate on the list will be offered the volunteer seat.
