GuruDAO Bootstrap Phase

Summary

The proposal outlines the rights and limitations of the DexGuru team (also known as Dev sub-DAO). With the creation of GuruDAO, it is crucial that the Dev-sub DAO’s role is clear and that the DAO and sub-DAO are aligned with the vision, target and budget.

Background

As DexGuru transitions to a DAO structure in the form of GuruDAO, the DexGuru company and team will join GuruDAO as a sub-DAO. This sub-DAO will be formally known as Dev sub-DAO for all discussion purposes. Dev sub-DAO will continue to work on DexGuru as usual and focus on product development.

Dev sub-DAO does not receive any special status within GuruDAO due to the “core team” label. It acts as any other sub-DAO and is responsible for product development and GuruDAO technical platform maintenance (Discord, Discourse, Snapshot, etc.) within defined boundaries.

Dev sub-DAO has its own budget and does not require any funding from the GuruDAO for the following 12 months minimum.

Proposal

Vision

Dev sub-DAO’s primary focus is building the DexGuru platform and is responsible for GuruDAO technical maintenance. The team is dedicated to product and GuruDAO development within its boundaries. The DexGuru vision is stated in the product manifesto:

DexGuru is a design-driven company focused on providing the best trading experience possible. Our UI is easy to use and optimized to keep traders in touch with their markets. Our goal is to make it easy to leverage on-chain data in a simple, understandable way so traders can finally take advantage of it.

Dev sub-DAO is a part of the GuruDAO, like any other sub-DAO. It does not have any special status or additional voting power or rights to make DAO-wide decisions on its own.

Initial Target

The scope of the Dev sub-DAO responsibilities:

• DexGuru product development
• DexGuru product infrastructure maintenance
• GuruDAO infrastructure maintenance

Budget

Dev sub-DAO will be self-funded for the following 12 months. After this period, Dev sub-DAO may request additional funding using the standard proposal approach.

Milestones & Timeline

Since Dev sub-DAO does not require any initial funding from GuruDAO, it will continue to work as the main developer of the DexGuru platform in accordance with its planning process.

Reporting

Dev sub-DAO is responsible for periodic DexGuru product updates, community calls and quarter updates.

Steward Responsible

Nick Sawinyh - Nick continues to be responsible for DexGuru product. The same team of DexGuru will also continue on the product in business-as-usual way.
