Abstract
The Sismo Genesis Treasury multisig wallet owns 46,296.30 $ENS tokens allocated by the ENS DAO as part of the “External Contributors” share of its token distribution.
We propose that 70% of those tokens (32,407 $ENS) be transferred from the Sismo Genesis treasury to the Sismo DAO treasury. The remaining 30% of the tokens would remain in the Sismo Genesis Treasury to cover tax expenses related to the airdrop (investigation in progress) and other operating costs if required. If some funds remain, after tax, out of this 30%, a new proposal will be made to transfer them to the DAO.
Motivation
The Sismo DAO does not currently hold power over a treasury (no treasury asset until now). Ethereum Naming Service (ENS) is a critical piece of Ethereum infrastructure on which the Sismo protocol is being currently built. The ENS token allocation distributed to Sismo acts as a reward for past collaborations between both projects and an incentive for future continued synergy between the DAOs.
By transferring the 32,407 $ENS tokens (airdropped to the Sismo Genesis team) over to the Sismo DAO multisig wallet, we would provide the Sismo DAO community with the resources and means to ensure the long-term viability of Sismo, and to fund continuing development and improvement of the Sismo protocol. These funds could then be allocated by the DAO to finance Sismo’s development, to grant programs, working groups/committees, incentivization initiatives, ecosystem development engagements, and other measures that promote the growth and wide usage of the Sismo protocol.
