Summary: This proposal assigns two ‘Head Moderators’ to the position of community support/moderator. The positions are paid. Cmods (community moderators) are tasked with providing community support, organizational improvements, and expansion efforts, among other community focused activities. This team of moderators has been suggested and chosen in forum discussions during the drafting phase of proposal, found here: https://forum.shapeshift.com/t/community-support-establishing-structure-growth-capacity/158 (suggested moderators are huntthewick and giantkin).

Abstract: Central purpose in assigning community mods/organizers is to provide community support. Further, these ‘Cmods’ engage in expansion/outreach/onboarding efforts to ensure healthy community dynamics. This team of community ‘Cmods’ are tasked with ensuring community experience does not degrade as the Fox den becomes more populated and expansive in years to come.

Motivation: Community support/moderators do not just prevent excessive ‘noise’ in the community caused by trolls, bad-actors, and confused individuals who may spam the discord without becoming familiar with the community in which they’re attempting participation. As our Fox community expands problems have, and will continue to arise. The task of structuring and furthermore, expanding the community in order to promote a healthy DAO is an important one. Enabling a productive and healthy community environment is critical in members interacting in an efficient manner.

Specification: Community moderators support and enable healthy community growth. These individuals are responsible for tasks associated with supporting, informing, and protecting the FOX community from bad actors (including but not limited to scammers and malicious users). Two ‘Cmods’ are identified as being immediately needed by the community according to tasks and work necessary within a number of ‘Fox Dens’ (the communities that we inhabit such as discord, telegram, forum, boardroom, reddit).

‘Cmods’ are needed to address the lacking community support structure within the discord, telegram, forum, and boardroom. While further coverage must necessarily occur across other community engagement venues (reddit, and the like). Community projects, activities, and other engagement-points will be focused on by the ‘Cmod’ team alongside marketing & growth workstream contributors. Beyond that, a support system will be established for discord in order to address relevant community problems/concerns. Therefore, after discussion within forum phases of this proposal’s development, huntthewick and giantkin are being nominated to accept the task of community support/moderation. The logic behind having two ‘Head Moderators’ is that community moderation tasks/project workload may be overwhelming. Continuous availability of a ‘Head Moderator’ would be optimal for any given situation that may arise.

Activation of the aforementioned ‘Cmod’ team will occur immediately upon completion of successful vote. Compensation allocation for Initial community growth/moderation team: 9000 USD/thirty days (allocated in fox token) according to market price at the date/time of disbursement. This compensation will be split evenly between the two individuals suggested during the community forum proposal drafting and community discussion phases (huntthewick and giantkin). This term will end in four months.

Benefits: This proposal is community inspired and is intended to enable a community environment that promotes the values that we as Fox find to be of importance. This ensures that not only will we early Fox enjoy the community; those who join in the future too will have an experience that is everything a new Fox could hope for.
