Abstract

Building on our longstanding collaboration, we are proposing to run a Quadratic Funding (QF) round co-sponsored by ShapeShift DAO, while supporting ShapeShift with a unique co-marketing opportunity.

• The total funds request for this co-sponsorship is 2000 USD worth of FOX.
• These sponsorship funds will go towards public goods projects on Giveth.io.
• ShapeShift will receive prominent logo placement, inclusion in multi-platform co-marketing efforts, and influence over project selection for the round.
• This round will also support the debut of “Causes,” Giveth’s new AI-driven donation flow that empowers champions to fund groups of projects aligned with core values.

Quadratic Funding (QF) is a way to distribute matching funds that boosts donations from many small contributors more than a few large ones—so the projects the community cares about most get the most support. You can link to: wtfisqf.com for a friendly explainer.

Background

Giveth is a leading donation platform in web3 for transparent, community-driven public goods funding. This proposal invites ShapeShift DAO to co-sponsor an upcoming QF round on Giveth. The round would highlight ShapeShift’s ongoing commitment to public goods and offer an opportunity to engage the broader Web3 community through transparent, community-driven giving. With over 4,000 verified projects, 22,000+ donors, and deep expertise in round management, Giveth is well positioned to deliver a high-impact campaign aligned with ShapeShift’s mission.

This proposal is rooted in our ongoing relationship. ShapeShift was the sponsor of Giveth’s first QF round, and FOX is already supported as a donation token on Gnosis Chain and ETH Mainnet. We’ve also collaborated on initiatives like the RegenFarm, supporting FOX in offering liquidity incentives via streaming rewards, and we currently maintain active liquidity in a GIV/FOX pair on Mainnet.

Motivation

This round offers ShapeShift DAO an opportunity to deepen its role in funding public goods. It builds on our past collaborations, but more importantly, it creates new strategic value by:

• Reinforcing ShapeShift’s position as a values-driven leader by supporting innovation in public goods funding
• Expanding brand visibility through co-marketing across leading web3-native channels
• Funding open-source and public goods projects
• Driving meaningful engagement with ShapeShift’s current and future community.

Specification

Giveth is on the precipice of launching a new feature called “Causes.” Causes are high-level categories, each encompassing a set of aligned public goods projects. Funds raised by a Cause are distributed by an AI agent based on project alignment with the Cause’s mission. The September QF round will debut this system, and ShapeShift’s contribution will help power this innovation.

Giveth will run a QF round using its platform infrastructure, with the matching pool provided by ShapeShift DAO among other sponsors (secured by Giveth). Giveth will use ShapeShift DAO visuals and branding in the round graphics, and will feature ShapeShift in round promotional materials - including social media posts and blogs.

If this proposal passes, upon receipt of the $2000 USD in FOX, Giveth will gradually swap the FOX for the required matching pool token over a period of several weeks to limit market impact. FOX should be sent on Mainnet or Gnosis Chain to donation.eth (The Giveth matching pool multisig).

KPIs:

• Total Matching pool size: 10K-50K USD
• Number of unique donors: average of 915 per round
• Total funds raised: average of $45K per round
• Social media impressions: average of 202K per month
• Increase in new project submissions and ecosystem partnerships.

Budget Breakdown:

• $1,700 (85%) will go directly to matching funds for projects
• $300 (15%) supports round operations, in line with Giveth’s standard QF policy
