Failed TX warnings - 0.85 ETH lost in gas

I tried to purchase a nft on rarible, due to an issue with the contract, the transaction failed and ended up burning 0.85 ETH in gas. I also did not receive the nft. While this might be chump change for some, for me it is twice the net amount I made selling art last month. My proposal would be to help others and me affected by such issues on an individual basis to at least help cover for a part of the losses, and implement warnings to prevent such a thing happen to others.
