For this first experiment, i’ll request the 1.5 ETH grant to my personal EOA wallet churchofmoloch.eth, and I will carry out the mission of the Church as articulated in the above discord post.
1 ETH will go directly to the participants .5 ETH will go to the costs of setup & running the events.
I will create a costs sheet with a breakdown of each line item and share with public nouns ASAP.
tl’dr is that the Church of Moloch will give ETH to people who are interested in learning about crypto and getting involved in the mission of spreading the web3 gospel.
The Farmers market stand that I will be setting up will be 100% focused on “Public Nouns”, then people who signal interest in getting involved & learning about crypto, web3, Ethereum, etc. will be able to join a follow up meetup “the antithetical church of moloch” that will meet on Wednesdays or Thursdays from 6-8pm at a public venue (probably the Durham public library or maybe American Underground).
At the first meetup, I will be looking to safely onboard participants into web3, educate them about best security practices, and by the end of the meetup, everyone will have their own wallet (setup with Metamask) with $20 worth of ETH (up to 80 recipients), and will know how to keep their seed phrase in a safe place.
I also look to educate attendees about Public Nouns, the mission, vision, and values of this organization and our culture, in our time together at the meetup.
After I have proven without failure that this model works, I will send the churchofmoloch.eth name to be controlled by a multi-sig with myself and other Public Nouns holders who have strong reputation & can uphold the spirit of “The Antithetical Church of Moloch” - the multi-sig will be primarily used for checks & balances & to reserve funds to be held that need to go toward taxes.
Of course, If I am actually able to create a church for this, then I believe there should be some tax write-offs involved, so I will look into that after our first experiment is conducted.
The first meetup will occur before ETHDenver on the 22nd or 23rd of February, and I will be posting updates in the Public Nouns discord server!
