This HIP aims to remove the figure of Mission Board Member as it currently exists and to terminate the functions of the current members of the Mission Board.

Abstract

The role of Mission Board Member will be terminated. All tasks that are assigned to the Mission Board Members will cease to be their responsibility. The current Mission Board Members Board Santi.eth, 0xjean.eth, nix.eth (Justin Kalland) and V4len.eth, as well as the currently vacant fifth seat will cease to function due to the elimination of the position they held.

Motivation

The role of Mission Board Member has so far only caused a rift in the community, delaying the normal development of the organization. Several of its members embarrassed the community with their public manifestations, others were not present except on rare occasions. Most of the functions assigned to them have not been executed. “Personalisms” only proved to generate a war of egos that discredits us in front of the rest of the ecosystem.

Specification

The Mission Board will cease to be a representative figure of this DAO. The functions of its members will cease to be its responsibility.

Rationale

Ongoing developments proved that the MB produces enormous political cost, for dubious benefit. Moreover, HIPs have proven to be a way to remove MB members, despite being democratically elected.

The only practical purpose of the MB is being able to correct small mistakes, under specific circumstances, anything else requiring HIP amendments. This benefit doesn’t warrant the cost.

Implementation

Upon approval of phase 3 of this proposal, the role of the Mission Board will be eliminated and its members will cease to be recognized and representative figures for Proof of Humanity. The responsibilities that are currently assigned to them will be decided democratically through the Snapshot platform.

Rationale

Los acontecimientos en curso han demostrado que el MB produce un enorme coste político, a cambio de un dudoso beneficio. Además, los HIP han demostrado ser una forma de destituir a los miembros del MB, a pesar de haber sido elegidos democráticamente.

El único propósito práctico del MB es poder corregir pequeños errores, en circunstancias específicas, cualquier otra cosa que requiera enmiendas del HIP. Este beneficio no justifica el coste.

Implementation

Al momento de aprobarse la fase 3 de esta propuesta se eliminará el rol de Junta de Misión y sus miembros dejarán de ser figuras reconocidas y representativas para Proof of Humanity. Las responsabilidades que hasta el momento se les adjudican seran dirimidas de manera democratica a través de la plataforma snapshot.
