Summary

On May 15th a proposal was put to the DAO as to whether or not they’d support to the inclusion of $APE to the $PLAY pie.

From the original proposal:

“On March ’22 Yuga Labs raised $450M in a seed round to create the interoperable gaming metaverse Otherside. The APECoin will be the hard currency of Otherside. Yuga promised to focus on interoperability and web3-native features, when the majority of other teams are building yet another MMORPG. This approach, together with the Yuga’s background as the leading company in the NFT space, make Otherside a very promising metaverse project and APECoin a nice addition to the PLAY pie” —Gleb

This vote passed with 88% in support and 12% requesting more information.

Passing thresholds

1. 5% or more of veDOUGH supply must participate in the vote (CURRENT_SUPPLY*0.05=RESULT)
2. At least 60% of participating tokens must vote FOR

Motivation and scope

The purpose of this proposal is to ratify that the DAO wants to add $APE to $PLAY. The purpose of this proposal is not to decide on a % allocation for this decision.

The benefits of adding $APE to $PLAY are that $APE represents one of the largest “social tokens” linked with an NFT collection. As the most dominant company in the industry, Yuga Labs’ token represents significant market share, and this ought to complement preexisting components of $PLAY.

Closing notes

This vote is as to whether or not APE ought to be added as one of the components of PLAY. A vote FOR signals support of this proposal, and a vote AGAINST signals that this proposal is not supported.
