Solidarity Lunch Box
What is the problem or frustration you want to solve using this grant?
The Marmita Solidaria project delivers healthy food to those in need and their pets, bringing hope and fighting against malnutrition.
Why do you think it has yet to be solved? Is it merely a lack of funding or are there other barriers at play?
The Solidarity Lunchbox depends on financial costs so that we can carry out this social work that we do.
What is the best-case outcome of receiving this grant?
A project for distributing meals to homeless individuals can have various positive impacts, both for the beneficiaries and for the community as a whole. Some of these impacts include:For the homeless:Regular meals: Access to nutritious and regular meals, improving health and well-being.Dignity: Recognition of the value and respect for human dignity
If you had access to 10x the funding amount, what could you improve? How would the outcome and impact change?
If we had the funding of 10x, we would produce many more meals, more rations, and increase to 2 distributions per month, we would carry more blankets in every distribution, that is, we would increase everything we already do. And we could also bring milk for infants. …
Execution
How will you carry out the project and bring it to completion?
Well, today we have a team of more than 12 volunteer collaborators. In the project, no one has a specific role; everyone performs various tasks, especially because we have many tasks to carry out the project, meaning that everyone does a bit of everything.
What is an interesting (operational) detail about the project that is non-obvious to an outsider?
Well, the project has many stages. We start with planning the nutritional menu that will be distributed, then we move on to the shopping list for all the food, both for humans and for pets. On the execution date, we gather for the production of the meals and the assembly of the lunchboxes. After that, we stock the cars with clothes, blankets, lunch
What does the timeline to completion look like? Any major factors that could delay the project? Any hard deadlines you need to comply with?
If we have financial support, we will not have delays in the execution of the Project, since today we carry out the distribution once a month due to financial issues, as our operation has a high cost; the more support we have, the more implementation we can increase.
Are you already working on this project, and for how long? What have you learned?
We have been running this project since September 2024, and we execute a distribution every month. If we receive significant support, we will increase this distribution. What I have learned during this time is how to execute a project from start to finish, we united the local community, learned to value simple things more, recognized the power that
About you
Why are you uniquely qualified to make use of this grant?
Well, I created the project, and we are executing it with a lot of responsibility and dedication, which is why I can confidently say that I am open to this support.
How did you come up with the project idea? Do you have domain expertise in this area?
I have always wanted to help people in states of public calamity, but I didn’t have the financial means, and through web3 I saw this opportunity without bureaucracy, and that motivated me.
Please tell us in one or two sentences about something you achieved in the past that would be indicative of your ability to execute this project.
Through good coexistence with the local community, I realized that I could be a leader and, by being aware of the opportunities of web3, I managed to lead a group of volunteers and unite the local community in a single project.
Budget
Please provide a rough breakdown of how you plan to spend the grant money.
Our monthly spending for the execution of the project is about $350 per month, which is used for purchasing supplies, disposables, water, pet food, and fuel for transportation.
