We are the Nouns Pokémon team https://www.nouns.camp/proposals/91; the longest-standing esports team under the Nouns banner. With a proven track record of competitive success, we have solidified Nouns as a household name within the Pokémon community. We are asking for support from the DAO to be able to build along Nouns, mainly in the next two in person events to be held in New Orleans and Anaheim in addition to our usual online activities.

We have been representing nouns self-funded since November 2024, where we represented Nouns on every online tournament, stream and in the two international events we participated in, one in São Paulo and the other one in London.

Our initial proposal https://www.nouns.camp/proposals/736 did not pass, so we tried to implement the feedback given and we adapted to the current market conditions on this one.

We are seeking 20,000 USDC from the DAO to help fund our travels for our 6 person team. Additionally, we will use some of the funds to host enticing activities to strengthen the presence of our communities on-chain, with the goal to onboard some collectors which we believe are potential profiles to join Nouns.

The ultimate goal is to claim the title of Pokémon World Champions while continuing to expand the Nouns brand globally as we have been doing since 2022.

How the Funds Will Be Used:

• Travel and Lodging: Covering costs for the two final and most important major international events: The North American International Championship and the World Championship.
• Bootcamp: An intensive week long bootcamp that gives us space and time to adapt in a different region right before the World Championship will help us to focus up, and will better prepare us to earn the title “World Champion”.
• Community Engagement: Incentivizing and onboarding Pokémon fans into the Nouns ecosystem through presential and online initiatives.

Success Metrics:

• Having a Nounish influence in the Pokémon social media and streaming platforms.
• Tangible impact in bridging the Pokémon fanbase with Nouns and web3 initiatives.
• Positive feedback for our initiatives and activities.

Why Pokémon, what can it bring to nouns?

Being one of, if not the best known IP in the world as well as the highest grossing franchise, Pokémon not only has the reach to attract a vast number of people, but also shares very similar values to those that Nouns convey. People from all over the world, of all age ranges and with very varied backgrounds know, participate and visit the events.

One of the target audiences we want to focus on with our initiatives are the Pokémon trading card and Pokémon collectible enthusiasts. We believe this will bring profiles that could be excellent candidates to buy digital assets, since they value having unique and rare items in their collections!

We are also Pokémon UNITE competitors, known worldwide thanks to our long career, because we are very consistent in our results over the years. Additionally, we are very close to our community, and are known as genuine and wholesome players. s. We would like to continue to represent Nouns in this exciting scenario in which we find ourselves, because we see our values reflected in the Nouns organization.

Our Current Season’s Tournaments So Far:

The season started in November 2024, and we have been having a lot of success! Notable competitions include self-funding a trip to Brazil and to London, as well as having a showmatch with DreamMax e-Sports in the Nouns House.

Showmatch in Nouns House, Brazil

We had the pleasure to be welcomed at the Nouns House in São Paulo (https://www.nouns.camp/proposals/630) where we enjoyed an intense showmatch against one of the best teams in Brazil, DreamMax e-Sports.

TheBower, JP and PlayDNA covered all our needs for the showmatch and gave us the best setup we have ever played on! The showmatch and stream were a complete success and everyone had a blast. We even got the official Pokémon UNITE casters to commentate! It was a delight to be able to meet PlayDNA and be one of the first to enjoy the Nouns House.

Our Story

Our journey began with Proposal 91 in 2022, which marked our entry into the Nouns DAO ecosystem. This pivotal moment allowed us to UNITE as a team under the Nouns banner and pursue competitive excellence in Pokémon UNITE. Over the years, our team has evolved, but our commitment to representing Nouns and pushing boundaries remains unwavering in every part of the world we’ve been to.

Our social media networks together have around 40,000 followers on X, more than 70,000 on Youtube and over 75,000 on Twitch! On Twitch, four of our team have achieved Partner!

Thanks to streaming, we have been able to connect with our community and gain a following due to our skill level and tenure in the Unite Community.

Our story is not just about competition; it’s about creating lasting connections and inspiring the Pokémon UNITE community to embrace the innovative spirit of Nouns and take advantage of the opportunities they offer.

The Pokémon season

Pokémon has different tiers on their tournaments, the biggest ones are the European International Championship, Latin America International Championship, and North American International Championship (known as EUIC, LAIC, and NAIC, respectively)) as well as the Worlds Championship.

The proposal asks for support to travel to NAIC and the World Championship.

Fun fact, we are known and noticed by the Pokémon company itself! We appear in the Play Pokémon banner on X, and were the only ones from UNITE to get an official interview in the Pokémon main YouTube channel.

How we help to proliferate Nouns

Community Engagement and the Nounish Spirit

In addition to the online engagement we have already within our communities, we want to expand our reach, try to reach more communities in events that we will host in each of the two majors.

We have been using stickers as a nice incentive for people to come up and talk to us or support us. There are a lot of nounish Pokémons.

We teach our audience the values that Nouns stand for, as well as promoting NounsGG initiatives. We want to try to connect with potential collectors to show them the possibilities Nouns can offer as we evaluate them as good potential targets to be onboarded. Guiding into the web3 and Nouns ecosystem

The team is constantly working on making the crypto ecosystem more approachable to the Pokémon community

We are a perfect example of a group that started skeptical and happily became engaged with nouns for 3 years. At this point it’s natural for us to demonstrate the value of nouns, crypto and web3 as a whole.

We are also proud to say we are involved with governance within the Nouns ecosystem. ADESu has joined the Nouncil as an active member, and we have been delegated a Noun by Nouns.gg via a round to allow us to participate in a greater way. We are not just Pokémon fans/gamers - we have enough crypto knowledge to guide and help!

Budget Spread November 2024 - August 2025

Partial cover when traveling to NAIC and Worlds: 12,000 USDC: Traveling budget for 6 people for 5-7 days travels from Europe. The destinations are New Orleans for the North American International Championship (NAIC) and to Anaheim for the Worlds Championship. We are asking $1000 per person, per event.

Bootcamp 6,000 USDC: This bootcamp includes 10-14 days of training in another region to reach the maximum level and focus before the World Championship. We are asking for $1000 per person for this.

Proliferation of the Nouns Brand: 2,000 USDC. This budget includes, design and material costs, Nouns merch we buy for fans, giveaways, videos, fan meets and other ideas that incentivise the community to meet us!

TOTAL - 20,000 USDC

Remember that this amount would also do as a retro-fund for the activities we did for Nouns since the start of the season.
