Discourse Proposal

Request for 150 ETH to:

1. Fund installation of Nouns glasses VISIBLE FROM EARTH ORBIT
2. Serve as venue retainer for future Nouns IRL events
3. Establish Nouns DAO as a founding supporter of charity beer garden that will utilize the space
4. Provide drone photography of finished project and initiate media coverage

Benefits:

1. Imprint Nouns upon the permanent record via Google Earth, Google Maps, etc.
2. Retain two venues for IRL Nouns events in the US Midwest
3. Reinforce the Nouns ethos by supporting a community-oriented charity event series
4. Raise Nouns awareness and proliferation potential on a previously unrealized scale

The DAO has already funded a Nouns expedition space and the ISS. This proposal will MAKE NOUNS VISIBLE FROM SPACE by installing a pair of Nouns glasses large enough that they’ll be seen from orbit and for long enough to be included when satellite maps are updated in Google Earth/Maps, etc. They’ll become part of the permanent record, visible even to normies that don’t frequent NFT social media. The glasses will appear less than 300 yards from the largest stadium in the US (third largest in the world) and one of the largest universities — a destination for hundreds of thousands every year. It’s also an area that has undergone major municipal and private development over the past 12 months so updates to online maps are sure to follow.

Nouns funding will fulfill multiple goals simultaneously: the biggest and most visible being the massive Nouns glasses, obvious not only to online navigators but to in-person visitors and media providing ground & aerial coverage during sporting events. The glasses will be included as part of a synthetic turf upgrade at the site and will align with a North-oriented map display for a natural viewing angle. Replacing the natural lawn with synthetic turf will improve durability at the site and preserve the Nouns glasses long enough for the next satellite maps update to take place.

Funding will also serve as a retainer for Nouns IRL events in a Midwest US city accustomed to large gatherings and a short drive from an international air hub. The Nouns community is welcome at the charity beer garden and can also request a private visit. Nouns DAO will have access to a 10,000 square foot outdoor site and a premium residential venue for any dates not reserved for charity events).

Installation of the Nouns glasses at the site will identify Nouns DAO as an advocate for community-oriented events in public spaces and will benefit a well-established charity beer garden that began at this location in 2016. The family-friendly public tailgate successfully attracted tens of thousands of patrons each season (before a pandemic hiatus) and grossed six figures for cancer programming.

A licensed drone photographer will capture photos of the Nouns glasses in situ so that images and Nouns backstory may be included in a press release for local and national media. The owner/manager of the charity event spent 26 years as a professional photographer and has numerous media and connections, including a spouse in the publishing and PR industry.
