Nouns Amigos Everywhere All at Once

- Boost and grow the community with funding mechanisms.
- Reach new builders and fans.
- Spread Nouns in Spanish.
- Look for additional funding sources.
- 156 ETH + 60,000 USDC total budget for 12 months.
- Led by Lex and Mono.

Nouns Amigos?
Nouns Amigos is the Nouns community in Spanish. We are a group of builders on a mission to expand the reach of Nouns, fostering a nounish mindset among creators, enabling a building environment in one’s language across Latin America and beyond since June 2022.
Over the past year, thanks to proposal 468, we boosted the community through rounds, contests, and grants. We grew as a builders community, evolving from small, contained proof of concepts (Prop House rounds) into more substantial and impactful ideas (Nouns Amigos Grants). We ran 6 Prop House rounds, 30 Farcaster rounds, 3 contests in Uplink, and the first season of Nouns Amigos Grants with 20 approved proposals in Snapshot.
After seeing different projects arise in Prop House and Rounds, we narrowed the grants program to three main categories: art, public goods, and technology. The result was a series of more focused projects. To name a few:
- Nouns Animation Jam in Argentina by Pauher
- Nounish Graphic Fair in Colombia by Nadie
- Nouns Dance Battles #2 in Chile by Merkén
- Nounish Art School in Peru by Ivanna
- Nouns animated series in Mexico by La Blocka
- Nouns to the Rescue: Park Restorations in Guatemala by Indeus
- Reforestation in Peru by El chico de las plantas
- Animation series in Argentina by Ann/Yuyarikafilms
Our public spaces, including weekly calls averaging 30 participants and a Farcaster channel with +1.8K followers, have provided a platform for sharing and debating ideas and proposals. This has strengthened the community and enabled collaboration between builders.
Ownership through AMIGO tokens, which are earned through proof of work, has deepened engagement and encouraged a more critical mindset while voting.
Accountability measures introduced as part of the Amigo Grants, such as retroactive funding and Nouns Amigos Gardeners validating milestones in proposals, have ensured that resources are used effectively.
In 2024, we faced technical and social challenges that required us to adopt new tools and approaches—constantly adapting and building. Becoming Nouns delegates enriched our community’s understanding of governance and reinforced our connection to Nouns, the same understanding that enabled us to make better decisions when voting on Amigos’ grant proposals.
The Nouns Amigos community is a consistent group of quality builders pushing Nouns forward every day in Latam. A committed base of contributors consistently participates in Amigos’ weekly Rounds and Discord calls, votes on proposals in Snapshot, and takes part in Nouns governance as delegates. You can follow the community’s activity on Instagram, X, and Farcaster.

What do we plan for 2025?
We want to keep boosting the community with funding mechanisms designed for the Nouns Amigos community. We want to make Nouns Amigos the best bridge to get into Nouns in Spanish. We want to inspire people to become nounish, find their builder path, and create positive value within and beyond the web3 ecosystem.
We plan to:
- Reward builders through rounds and contests.
- Boost builders through grants.
- Reach new builders and fans through IRL events and experiments.
- Create alternative funding sources for Nouns Amigos to buy Nouns at auction.
Reward
Since we adopted Rounds, the number of contributors and engagement has only increased week after week. The weekly round is the playground that has helped to make people’s first approach to Nouns more friendly and rewarding.
We aim to continue incentivizing and rewarding the community to play Nouns immediately and frictionlessly. We’ll ideate, communicate, and moderate rounds and contests to increase participation and building. We’ll make sure the Nouns game is on throughout the year.
The goal is to keep builders active and playing every day.
Boost
Since the introduction of Nouns Amigos Grants, the community has matured—proposals have become more impactful, and voting more thoughtful. Grants serve as the perfect foundation for developing ideas initiated in rounds, proving new concepts, testing MVPs, and creating projects that have the potential to grow into larger, more ambitious proposals.
Since last year, we narrowed down grants to three main categories: art, technology, and public goods. Giving a better idea of what the community is willing to fund. We’ll continue to refine this idea and be conscious of the community’s and region’s needs.
We aim to continue incentivizing and funding the ideas the community believes are worth executing. We’ll ideate, communicate, and moderate new seasons of the Nouns Amigos Grants program to foster building and accountability through milestones. We’ll ensure there is a clear pathway for funding and executing ideas.
The goal is to provide builders with the means to turn their ideas into reality.
IRL events and experiments
The Amigos are spread in at least 12 countries, and we want to bring them together and celebrate the good work the community is doing. Involving the community, and deciding the right approach to maximize impact and resources, we’ll do any of the following options:
- a) a medium-sized event to bring the community together in one place or;
- b) several simultaneous small events in different countries.
The goal is to unite the community and create stronger ties between regions. Think of your favorite Nouns IRL celebration, including piñatas.
On the other hand, beyond creating an environment and setting incentives for the community to build, we ensure there are ways to consume, learn, gather, share, collaborate, and discuss all things Nounish. We are constantly working to expand Nouns’ footprint in the Spanish-speaking world and attract new builders. However, executing ideas beyond directing people to existing funding mechanisms has been challenging with limited funds.
This year, we want an experimental approach where we can flexibly execute ideas—adapting as the community’s needs change. We want to do experiments to reach new builders and fans and create needed resources to get started (websites, guides, tools, etc.). We will also support current builders and maintain the Nouns Amigos stack for gathering, proposing, deploying funds, and ensuring accountability—as we do today.
The goal is to turn fans into builders and make them thrive.
Alternative funding sources
Nouns is the primary funding source for Nouns Amigos, but we aim to start offsetting costs and giving back to the DAO we are part of. As part of our experimental approach, we’ll execute experiments to get additional funding sources for Nouns Amigos, including drops, physical/digital products, collaborations, etc. We want to expand and proliferate Nouns as an art project and headless brand, adding to the cultural and aesthetic conversation from our point of view.
The goal is to get additional funds to contribute back to the DAO by purchasing Nouns at auction.
Budget
Here is our budget breakdown for the next 12 months:
- Rounds: 12 ETH
- Rounds: 1 ETH/mo * 12 = 12 ETH
- Grants: 96 ETH
- Grants season 2 (Q1-Q2): 48 ETH
- Grants season 3 (Q3-Q4): 48 ETH
- IRL events and experiments: 60,000 USDC
- IRL events: 30,000 USDC
- Resources, experiments, etc.: 1,250 USDC/mo * 12 = 15,000 USDC
- Rounds fees, tools, gas, etc.: 1,250 USDC/mo * 12 = 15,000 USDC
- Team compensation: 48 ETH
- Lex: 2 ETH/mo stream * 12 = 24 ETH
- Mono: 2 ETH/mo stream * 12 = 24 ETH
- Total: 156 ETH + 60,000 USDC
Notes
- Rounds budget decreased by -66% compared to the last proposal (468). Grants budget remains the same per season as in the previous proposal (468). IRL events and experiments is a new category. Previously, we only included a minimal budget for gas and tools. Team compensation decreased by -27% (two team members instead of three).
- We are requesting stETH instead of ETH due to low liquid ETH in the treasury.
