3 Nouns to Nouns Amigos

Context

At the beginning of 2024, Wag delegated 3 Nouns to Nouns Amigos. This delegation was unexpected but very well received—being able to vote on-chain as a new governance body was a huge milestone for the Nouns Amigos community.

The delegation was active for around three months. During this time, Nouns Amigos holders could vote through the Nerman bot in our Discord.

During this time, the performance of metagov.nounsamigos.eth looked like this:

Despite challenges (language barrier, weekly calls, shorter voting window, multisig signatures, voting fatigue, etc.), we constantly participated as a meta-governance body.

The participation of Nouns Amigos in Nouns governance was one of the key ingredients for being closer to Nouns and having our own identity and voice in the DAO. We started to do weekly calls where we discussed active proposals and had a few proposers approach us to pitch. We still maintain the same weekly call today (9 months in a row), discussing our proposals on Snapshot and increasing constant participation from the community.

Request

We request Noun 566, 575, and 768 for the Nouns Amigos community to resume our participation in Nouns governance.

Meta-governance

The voting process will be carried out using the Nerman bot in the Nouns Amigos Discord and subsequently executing the on-chain vote from the metagov.nounsamigos.eth Safe—the same process that we had before.

For this new stage of meta-governance, we want to expand the possibility of voting to those with the `amigo` role in the Nouns Amigos Discord, thus creating a new opportunity for the broader community to participate in Nouns governance:

Voting power will be delegated to metagov.nounsamigos.eth Safe
Resume voting using the Nerman bot in the Nouns Amigos Discord, where those with the `amigo` role will be able to vote
Resume on-chain voting from metagov.nounsamigos.eth

Owning Nouns will put us again on the governance map. We will bring our point of view and make Nouns Amigos a two-sided way where Nouns can participate in Nouns Amigo’s decision-making and vice versa.
