This proposal is the revision of the proposal 598.

We Keep the same vision but adjust the deliverables.

We believe that the most effective and efficient way to start, as many of you have recommended, is by adopting a digital-first approach.

Our focus is to allocate our resources and time to develop a digital experience to tell the story of nouns art.

The website will make the project accessible to everyone and will allow an easy and intuitive consumption of the contents.

The digital format lets us be more creative in content, art, and design, while also allowing for testing and improvement. This strategy allows us to continue working on our vision, without incurring manufacturing, distribution, or shipping costs at the moment. We have also decided to downsize the team and cut pre-production costs to support the project.

As a result, the overall budget has been reduced by 79%, thus minimising risk to the DAO.

Hello 👋

I’m Facu (Twitter / Warpcast), Art Director and Designer. Founder of 952.design. With over 15 years of experience, I have worked in various disciplines such as branding, product design, graphic design, motion design, and illustration for companies of all sizes.

I’ve been playing with nouns since Prop 40. (Nov.2021)

Imagining and creating content, art and design for various projects around the DAO, such as NounBA, UNouns, Nouners.wtf, NounsBR, Nouns Gardeners, Propdates and Prop House.

Our vision: From PFP to digital fine art.

Our goal is to expand the current meaning of the collection from profile pictures or DAO tokens to digital fine art, showcasing their value as on-chain art.

We want to shape and share the story behind the art of Nouns and the artists who create it.

We aim to create a new perspective on how people perceive and feel about Nouns.

We want to inspire and claim space in the minds and hearts of individuals and organisations as a digital fine art collection.

Our goals:

• We want to people perceive Nouns as Digital Art

• Establish a basic criteria or artistic direction that allows the collection to grow by introducing new traits, but always respecting the visual language of the collection

• We don’t want to change the art of Nouns
• We do not do this to suit any standard but to discover new ways, new forms, to stretch even further what nouns means
• We don’t want to create Nouns merchandising
• We don’t want to create just a web showing traits, but tell the story or nouns art

Process

I. Now - Digital

DAO investment for the creation of content and web.

Website:

Introduce 32X32PX Vision.

Document and tell the story of the art of nouns, featuring the artist and project contributors.

It will serve as the manifesto for a new point of view on the project, adding a new meaning to how people perceive and feel about Nouns.

This website will bring Nouns closer to all fans of pixel and digital art.

It will be a highly visual content.

Good web design will attract designers and developers to Nouns.

UX will allow easy content consuming through an intuitive navigation.

It allows users to interact with content.

It is a new entry point to the Nouns from art and culture.

Multilingual content in English and Spanish.

Easy to iterate and refine content.

Will include multimedia content video, audio, pictures…

Easy to share.

Responsive intuitive and accessible interface, regardless of the device used.

Include:

• All the content created for the website will be available under the CC0 license.
• Research and documentation about nouns on Discord and Twitter
• Research about art and digital art
• Interviews with the artists and OG’s to learn firsthand about their history, background, biography, inspiration, involvement in the project, etc
• Organise, process and catalog all the information from research and interviews
• Write, edit, and proofread text
• Create graphics and artworks
• Adapt and edit illustrations, pictures and media from research to a suitable format and resolution
• Art direction and visual development: typography, colors, graphic resources…

II. Next Step - Physical

This part of the project will not require a new round of financing.

Art Book

Research, writing, editing is one of the most difficult and time consuming parts to make our vision tangible.

Once the content is done, at the previous stage (I. Now - Digital), we will assume the adaptation of the content, artworks and design for the book.

We will use a pre-sale mechanism to measure demand and subsequent production.

We will be able to continue with this phase as long as the number of books pre-sold covers at least the design and production costs.

To calculate the design and production costs, and therefore the final price of each book, we need a clear idea of the amount of content in order to determine the book’s length and number of pages.

Include

• Adapt content, illustrations and artworks to the appropriate format for printing
• Layout design for book format
• Finishes and materials selection
• Printing tests and prototyping
• Corrections and final production

This way, the DAO will have a website with the content available to everyone and the collector’s book. Giving us a solid foundation to continue building and proposing future actions to promote our vision.

III. Future - Upcoming brand activation actions (tbd)

We want to further develop the 32X32PX brand and concept beyond this proposal.

Some of the ideas we have in mind include:

• Create social media campaigns about 32X32PX and the art of nouns to be shared by the community
• Adapt content for sharing and consumption on social media
• Submit the website and book to sites and blogs where design and tech professionals find inspiration
• Create synergies with other projects of the nouns ecosystem
• Get in touch with professional publishers to expand the edition of the book worldwide
• Donate books to art schools and universities
• Reach out galleries for exhibitions

32X32PX Core Team

The 952.design team will be in charge of the creative direction, design, and content creation. The team consist of:

Additionally, we will collaborate with partners from our network for development, and media content creation, such as developers, motion graphic designers, printers, copywriters, and photographers.
