Legacy Media Story Being Shared For The First Time! ⌐◨-◨

TL;DR: ‭See pop culture unfold through the lens of the first ever album cover manufacturing plant‬ in America. A comedic animated short film and documentary marketing teaser video to publicly unveil an‬ untold and iconic saga in media history about the family who were the first to put art on vinyl‬ album covers.‬‭ This story blends the old media world with the new, combining classic physical‬ collectibles with digital ones.‬

Vinyl was once an early technology that was transformed when art was introduced to it and tokens are a new technology that are now being transformed through art. Watch this story come to life through ⌐◨-◨

Summary‬

Back in the day, vinyl music records were packaged in brown paper bags, which were boring‬ with no artwork and lacked sales appeal. When art was finally released on them, sales grew by‬ 800%, and they have since become timeless collectibles across a wide range of demographics‬ globally.‬ ‭ This proposal shares a story that is over 100 years old and takes viewers on a magic carpet ride‬ through a significant piece of music, art, and pop culture history, much of which has not been‬ shared before. One of our team members has access to these stories and creative IP. Her‬ ancestors pioneered much of what you see today; they were the first to put art on album covers,‬built machines during a time when everything was handmade, and manufactured a majority of‬ vinyl album covers in the US between the 1930s and 1980s.‬

‭The short film and initiative that we are looking to generate involves sharing the‬ behind-the-scenes story of manufacturing a rare Beatles album and the history of art on album‬ covers through interviews and other historical animated reenactments.‬ ‭ Our team is experienced in creating viral album content and music videos; our Creative Director‬ has previously sold shorts to Comedy Central, had an animated pilot series backed by Saturday‬ Night Live (SNL) creator Lorne Michaels, and have also created films that appeared in 25 film‬ festivals around the world.‬

VALUE OF THIS PROJECT:‬

This concept intertwines a media tale with a universally-beloved product. People‬ of all ages and demographics are still collecting and enjoying vinyl records. The‬ media format has become cool again, benefitting from nostalgia, history, new‬ sounds, and new innovations.‬ ‭ This proposal presents a new way to generate buzz for Nouns. Here’s how: ‭

BENEFITS TO THE NOUNS DAO IF SUPPORTED:‬

1.‬‭ Nouns Brand Placement:‬‭ There will be noggles in at‬‭ least one scene.‬ ‭ 2.‬‭ Nouns NFT Representation:‬‭ There will be a chosen Noun‬‭ used as a‬ visible decoration that will appear in at least one scene.‬ ‭ 3.‬‭ Production Credits:‬‭ Nouns DAO will be given special‬‭ thanks in the‬ production’s credits. For example, one current idea would be to display the‬ following in the beginning of the short film:‬

“A huge part of media history has remained untold until now. This short‬ film has been made possible through the support of the Nouns DAO. ”

‭4.‬‭ Scenes and/or characters will be minted as NFTs and would like to‬ give a large portion of the NFT sales, 50% back to the DAO.‬ Image

DELIVERABLES:‬

1.‬‭ Create a short film (5 minutes or less) that is mostly animated and‬ ‭ re-enacting an iconic and hilarious scene in vinyl record jacket history.‬ ‭ 2.‬‭ Create a live-action marketing teaser video that captivates this legacy story‬ ‭ with interviews related to the story.‬ ‭

DISTRIBUTION:‬

  • Upon completion of the short animated film it will be submitted to film‬ ‭ festivals such as SXSW, Sundance, and Tribeca with the goal of getting‬ ‭ the film played at a notable film festival and a goal of getting a longer‬ ‭ series made or feature film.‬ ‭
  • The film will also be sent to executives at all the big networks many of‬ ‭ which we already have established relationships with.‬ ‭
  • We also plan to give interviews and marketing our film in publications such‬ as Vice, Rolling Stone, Deadline, and many others.‬ ‭
  • Marketing videos and teaser videos will be available on Youtube‬ ‭
  • All videos generated will include Nouns DAO given a special thanks‬

TEAM:‬

ROHITASH RAO - CREATIVE DIRECTOR‬ ‭Rohitash Rao is a writer, animator, director, illustrator, fine artist, and advertising‬ executive. His short films have played at over 25 film festivals around the world‬ and he has won awards from The One Show, the Clios, the Webbys, D&AD,‬ AICP, and Cannes Film Festival. His directing work has been recognized by‬ Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, MTV, AICP, The One‬ Show, Ad Critic, Juxtapoz Magazine, and Saatchi &‬ Saatchi’s New Director’s Showcase at Cannes.‬ Rao also co-created an animated pilot for FOX that was executive produced by‬ Lorne Michaels, creator and producer of NBC’s Saturday Night Live.‬ Clients Rao has provided expert creative services to include Nike, Toyota,‬ Microsoft, Taco Bell, Google, Staples, Little Caesars, Energizer, PlayStation, and‬ Volkswagen.‬ ‭

At the time, everyone was calling them “the glasses” and some folks felt‬ that worked just fine. I started a brainstorming discussion to rename them,‬ remaining persistent until we finally arrived on a name.

“Noggles” was born‬ shortly after and has since sustained virality within and beyond our‬ community. In many ways, Noggles have become as important to Nouns as the‬ “Swoosh” is to Nike.‬ My greatest skill is my ability to find opportunities like the Noggles example and‬ for them to generate value and make a positive impact in lasting ways. If you like‬ what I did in the past, you can see how this outside-the-box concept will spread‬ across an even-wider audience.‬

Emma specializes in strategy and making magical sh*t happen. Just a few of her‬ accomplishments include:‬ ‭

  • Started and ran a new digital collectibles business for Mike Judge after he‬ finished the TV show “Silicon Valley.” Milestones included generating a new‬ stream of sizable revenue, creating a strategy that attracted a prominent buyer,‬ and creating viral marketing content that grew Judge’s social media audience by‬ 30% in one day.‬ ‭
  • Advised public companies on their Web3 projects, helping with strategy,‬ business development, community building, operations, and efficiently scaling‬ their businesses.‬ ‭ EMMA’S NOUNISH CONTRIBUTIONS:‬

⌐◨-◨ Introduced Mike Judge to the Nouns community and created a fun and‬ memorable experience for the early community‬ ‭ ⌐◨-◨ Started a discussion to name the Nouns glasses, which led to the name‬ Noggles being chosen by the community‬ ‭ ⌐◨-◨ Shared the idea for a “rarity traits” website which lead to Brian J building a‬ rarity stats website‬ ‭ ⌐◨-◨ Helped onboard Nouners in the early‬ ‭ ⌐◨-◨ Worked with Prof Werder on Nounish Consultants which helped builders in‬ the nouns ecosystem with a variety of resources from strategy, legal, mental‬ health, and tax‬ ‭ ⌐◨-◨ Worked with Stoopid Buddy at the Rose Bowl Parade for the Nouns float‬ and helped with decorations at our first Nouns New Year’s Eve party‬ ‭

FUTURE PLANS BEYOND THIS PROPOSAL:‬

This short film will be sent to prominent stakeholders and tastemakers in the‬ music and media industry, with the goal of securing a mainstream TV series‬ and/or feature film. The longer-version story concept involves showcasing a‬ 120-year-old story and the evolution of physical collectibles to digital collectibles,‬ incorporating present-day initiatives such as Nouns.‬ ‭

EXAMPLES OF POTENTIAL TV SERIES EPISODES:‬

  • “How it all started” with early media technology: Sharing stories of record labels‬ in the early days and the vinyl record media explosion, showcasing work and‬ backstories of notable musicians including Frank Sinatra, Jefferson Airplane,‬ Miles Davis, Elton John, and Michael Jackson.‬ ‭
  • The family’s business pivoting to produce VHS and cassette tapes as‬ technologies evolved, showcasing the work and backstories of “I Love Lucy”,‬ “Star Trek”, Aerosmith, etc.‬ ‭
  • The backstory and impact of the business producing “The Sopranos” DVD box‬ sets‬ ‭
  • Vinyl becoming cool again, supported by the Jimi Hendrix-related backstory‬ ‭
  • Present-day digital collectibles and experimental media: Innovation and‬ opportunities being generated within Nouns‬ ‭
