Methodology
Rescue Toadz is an NFT collection of 18 toadz in which 100% of the funds are donated to Ukraine via Unchain Ukraine (directly coded in the smart contract). The project has a special bidding mechanic that encourages people to donate more.
The interesting thing is that you can not only mint toadz, but also match or increase the last donation for an already minted toad and it will automatically be transferred into your wallet. The toad will then drop its noun glasses as POAP in the wallet of the original holder.
This mechanism is coded directly in the smart contract and a toad owner cannot prevent the toad from hopping into another wallet. The idea is that this will encourage people to donate more. If they want to keep their toad they need to increase the price of the donation or acquire back the toad if somebody donated more.
Why not donate directly to Unchain?
The idea is to gamify the donation experience so people will donate more. For example, NounsDAO can donate for already minted toadz and “steal” them from the previous owners. Some of them will then donate again to get their toad back.
The goal of the proposal is to donate 0.2 ETH for 5 toadz that are already minted and “steal” them from the previous owners and also raise the prices for two other toadz to 10 ETH and 40 ETH respectively.
