Nouns DAO

TL;DR

Through Prop 211 we were able to propelled the meme and bring Nouns into a new geographic, introducing it to new audience while contributing to the lore of Nouns.

Navigating in a new geographic led us to realized that a significant part of Nouns attraction came from it’s friendliness thus building on that, this proposal aim to reach beyond crypto native and focus on:

• furthering Nouns presence IRL via nounish public infrastructure
• enhance brand recognition from non-crypto audience

We seek 64,300 USDC for constructing a series of Nounish public infrastructure that will be situated at the newly revamped Mt. Liupian forest park resting area.

Additionally, we request 2ETH to host a prophouse round where community/artist/designer can participate and submit their nounish infrastructure ideas. Winning ideas will serve as primary ref. with manufacturer to then be created IRL.

• released a free to collect Nounish digital collectables in collaboration with Shina Weibo
• generated a series of curated content, getting ⌐◨-◨ seen by millions on TikTok
• assisted a local cafe in Beijing in putting up a Nouns mural
• organized art contest allowing chinese artist to get exposure to Nouns
• onboarded local animator to create a short shorts for Nouns
• onboarded award winning music producer Hanjin Tan, who debutted “Noggle Chair” in his immersive audio theater show in HongKong
• worked with local authorities to install a Nounish signage at Mt. Liupian

Also connected with and introduce Nouns to Element 6 (Allowing us to put up Prop 430) led us realized that non-crypto native audience are able to share the same excitement about Nouns. Our steadfast belief in Nouns as public infrastructure powering public goods remain unwavering thus, we are putting up this proposal inviting the DAO to join this playful Nounish expansion; to explore and create more nounish

Why Nounish Infrastructure?

Reflecting on Nouns’ 2023 accomplishments (credit to TNS): Nouns, through on-chain coordination, continued to fund numerous Nounish initiatives.

Going into 2024, we want to be part of that same energy all while focusing on pushing forth Nouns beyond the crypto community. We belief Nouns’ magic shouldn’t be confined to only onchain or online platforms; as a CC0 brand, Nouns can transcend boundaries, attracting fans from every direction.

Nounish public infrastructure:

1. Aligns with Nouns’ mission as a public good.
2. Creatively demonstrates the limitless transformation of Nouns’ assets for universal enjoyment.
3. Moreover, a site will be created to showcase other similar nounish activation powered by Nouns which can be access easily from these Nounish public infrastructure.
4. This would enhance brand recognition among non-crypto audience through organic interactions, as they discover Nouns while having their activities around these Nounish public infrastructure.

Let’s talk location

These series of Nounish public infrastructure (i.e bench, signage, sculpture) will be installed at Guangzhou Mt. Liupian, known for its clear ridge lines, jagged cliffs, and beautiful reservoirs. These have made Mt. Liupian a popular destination for adventure-seekers and nature lovers.

This approximately 267-hectare area is undergoing progressive redevelopment to accommodate the growing number of visitors. With the recent completion of their forest park resting area refurbishment, and leveraging our established relationship with the authorities, we’ve already received approval for the installation of Nounish public infrastructure at the rest area.

The rest area is located right next to the iconic reservoir (Tear of Guangzhou), making it the go to spot for visitors. Placing our Nounish infrastructure strategically at the rest area ensures functionality while creating a popular spot at Mt. Liupian. The spot would enhances Nouns’ discovery along with virality as visitors shares their activities and photos on their social platforms.

Nounish infrastructure are for illustration purpose. Actual design will base off prop house round winners’ design as main ref.

Budget

The total proposed budget is 64,300 USDC + 2ETH, with an allocation as follows:

1. Nounish Infrastructure: 52,300 USDC

• 1.1. Production
  • Nounish bench (8qty) = 18,300 USDC
  • Nounish signage/sculpture (2-3qty) = 24,600 USDC
• 1.2. Logistic & Installation = 6,000 USDC
• 1.3. Website & Web design = 3,400 USDC
  • Will commission local artist

2. Team Compensation: 12,000 USDC

• HashConfucius = 6,000 USDC
• Karl = 6,000 USDC

3. PropHouse Round: 2ETH

• 1ETH x 2 winners = 2ETH
• Proposal duration = 14 days
• Voting duration = 7 days
• Voting committee = Toady Hawk, Coralorca, Brennen, Ben, Krel, Karl
  • 10 vote per committee

Purpose of prophouse round: To allow community artist/creatives/designer to be involve, to work on Nouns, to foster creativity. In addition, winning submission will be made CC0 facilitating easy replication of such nounish infrastructure anywhere.
