Signaling Vote: Should the mutual Stake with Rocketpool (#1)
Summary
Members have reviewed and discussed a proposal to allocate ETH from the capital pool to liquid staking with the Rocket Pool Protocol.
This is the first of two non-binding signaling votes, which will be used to gauge members’ support for the proposal.
Rationale
In the Investment Philosophy Review - 2023 the Nexus Mutual Investment committee has recommended a target of 40% allocation of mutual funds to lower risk investments such as ETH staking.
Currently there is approximately 22% allocated to Lido stETH, a similar investment in staking with the Rocketpool protocol (rETH) would increase the mutual’s investment in liquid staked ETH, while adding protocol diversity in order to limit the risk of exposure to any single staking provider.
Voting options
This vote will determine if the mutual will allocate ETH to staking with Rocket Pool, the options are:
- Yes, Stake ETH with Rocketpool
- No, Do not stake with Rocketpool
Specification
If the ‘Yes’ option receives the majority vote, an NMPIP and on-chain vote will follow.
The amount of ETH to be allocated will be decided by the preferred option in the companion signaling vote.
