Damien Hirst is a traditional blue chip artist by definition - he holds a record for one of the most expensive artworks sold by a living artist to date. ($100 million)
The Currency is Hirst’s first NFT collection consisting of 10,000 NFTS corresponding to 10,000 unique works on paper created back in 2016 and held in a secure vault. In a year, collectors will be able to decide if the want the NFT or the physical artwork. Although many of the artworks appear similar (like dollar bills), they are still non-fungible and unique. The collection poses interesting questions about currencies and the value of NFTs versus physical works.
