Should DAI be temporarily removed from the mUSD basket?
It is proposed to temporarily remove DAI from the mUSD basket of assets until the mUSD AMM is upgraded to support assets that remain persistently over peg such as DAI. Should circumstances change where DAI returns to peg before the new AMM is implemented, early re-inclusion may be considered.
Arguments in favour of temporarily removing DAI state that with mStable’s current AMM, DAI provides little value as a bAsset since it has remained at 0% basket weight for almost the entire time mUSD has been live.
Additionally, this bAsset causes gas cost increases of roughly 10-20k Gwei per transaction, 300k Gwei on proportional redemptions, and 20k Gwei on SAVE contract deposits, even whilst it is at 0% weight.
There have not been any arguments against the proposal at this time.
