M^0

This proposal will onboard Validator Checker as a Validator in the M^0 Protocol. This will give Validator Checker the ability to sign collateral updates from Minters and to Cancel mints or to temporarily Freeze a Minter.

Background Checker Corp. is a Delaware-incorporated software company. It develops software that is used as an operational infrastructure for digital assets, from cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, to tokenized assets (equities, fixed income, derivatives and alternatives). Checker helps regulated financial institutions to be efficient, scalable, and compliant.

Checker works with asset managers and payments companies that have digital assets as part of their operations. They use Checker’s industry-leading APIs to orchestrate financial workflows. For example, they use Checker’s unified API to push data to their counterparties (e.g. brokers, OTC desks, custodians, banks) to trade and settle assets. They can also use Checker’s API to pull data from their counterparties for reconciliation and reporting purposes.

As Checker has built integrations with traditional and digital brokers, custodians, and banks, Checker is well-equipped to become a Validator, pulling data from Minters’ counterparties.

Team Checker consists of four co-founders, combining 70+ years of startup, operator, and technology experience across traditional financial institutions and the blockchain space.

CEO Jack Chong is a serial founder, having previously built one of the earliest tokenized bond issuers under the Swiss DLT Bill framework. CTO Nathan Crocker was previously Global Head of Core Systems at Galaxy Digital. Mike Zaczyk was Head of Global Trading Operations at Abra, and prior to that held a similar position at an $8B+ multi-strategy hedge fund. Justin McMahan was CFO at Abra, and previously Global Treasurer at Tower Research, one of the largest trading firms in crypto.

Relationships with Minter Prospects Based on initial conversations, Checker’s target clientele overlaps with the target persona of Minters. As Checker and M0 grow, there is a clear synergy between the two organisations.
