# Update mint delay to 15 minutes

After a considerable number of data points surrounding the length of the mint delay, we are recommending it be lowered from 1 hour to 15 minutes. This will give Minters the ability to more rapidly create $M without significantly compromising the security advantages of a delay between mint proposal and execution.
