Voting Options

The option to choose between funding structures for 1, 2, or 3 months for Denny & kevtae has been made available to voters, providing flexibility for both the team and voters.

NOTE: We believe by securing funding for 3 months, we can maximize our chances of successfully delivering a fan engagement product that is licensed by the NBA.

Context

We are currently working with the NBA’s Web3 advisory group. They have previously subcontracted & executed the NBA’s Association NFT launch as contractors & have since maintained relationships with the NBA as their Web3 advisory group. Currently, they have full flexibility in managing the NBA’s community on Discord.

ELI5 (Explain it Like I’m 5) Project Value-Add

We’re presented with the opportunity to demonstrate the viability of the Heat Check concept within the official NBA Discord community. Once the deliverables are a success, Heat Check will have the opportunity to co-pitch this to the NBA directly. Heat Check will use these results as a catapult to raise outside funding.

The Heat Check team’s proposal ended Dec 2022. Over the last month, Denny & kevtae have continued working on Heat Check without a stream and have made significant progress with Mario.

During this month, Heat Check has

• Onboarded YNG Dreamerz from OTE
• Has partnered with the NBA’s Web3 team (The Association NFT, NBA Discord 40k+ users) and partnered with In The Lab’s Discord community (7k+ users) to focus on launching a Heat Check Discord bot for each of these servers

The Opportunities

Heat Check is aiming to bring value to the biggest basketball league in the world, the NBA, and here’s how we’re going to do it…

The NBA Web3 Team is open to the following:

1. Using the Heat Check Discord Bot for user-generated content & engagement in the NBA’s Official Discord (40k+)
2. Co-pitch Heat Check to NBA

The NBA has struggled with effectively engaging its fans online, whether it’s through the NBA App or their Discord server. By developing a fan engagement discord bot directly in the NBA’s official discord server, we aim to tackle the issue of fan engagement head-on. We are stoked to offer a solution that not only addresses this problem, but also provides an enjoyable and interactive experience for the fans.

By going through with this initiative, we would also be able to integrate the Heat Check bot into the following communities:

• In The Lab
• Overtime YNG Dreamerz

Some added Team context: Currently Mario Lopes, a full-time contributor for KH, is handling BD for Heat Check & is the only funded contributor at 9,167 $USDC & 7,500 $KRAUSE. Smit has joined the team as a Marketing / BD intern at 500 USDC/month & 15-20 hours/week. By adding Denny & Kevtae, we would now have 4 team members on Heat Check.

How will funds be used?

During January, the original goal of Heat Check was to raise funding, but instead, we focused a lot of our efforts on BD partnerships, and eventually connected with the NBA’s Web3 Team.

Funds will be used to have Denny & kevtae on full-time contributor streams, to ensure that the development deliveries are completed with the NBA, In The Lab, and Overtime.

Project Details

February - (Discord Bot)

• A Fan Engagement Tool for the NBA’s community
• Development of Heat Check Discord Bot - The bot will be a more honed-in version of the current Heat Check App, that focuses on daily challenge submissions
  1. Every 24 hours at the same time, a challenge will appear
     • Every user has one single submission chance
     • Challenges will be quick & frictionless to record (discord file limit)
     • Example challenges: Go and make a layup, 3-pointer, full-court shot, make a shot into a garbage can 6 feet away, take a photo of yourself watching an NBA game, etc.
  2. After verification by admins, the bot will notify accepted/rejected challenges & user earns XP, leveling up their Discord user

March (Iterating and Pitching)

• Develop a challenge feed where users can see each other’s submissions (take advantage of the newly onboarded 1000s of users)
  • Challenge feeds would be moderated by Heat Check and NBA Web3 team
• Testing and Iterating on Discord Bot with NBA, In The Lab, and Overtime
• Minimise non-challenges features in the Heat Check Web App (cut down on feature pollution)
• Pitch Heat Check to NBA and potentially close out on a deal with them

April - (Heat Check Services and Launch Day)

• Prep for the launch of NBA X Association NFT drop in April
• Prep for the launch of NBN23’s engagement solution in June 2023
• Provide and build out further Heat Check’s API services to NBN. This will entail:
  • Challenges (submission, creation, verification, rewards)
  • NFT Avatar Creation Toolkit (assets, avatar customization)
