Introduction

A few weeks back as i was brainstorming more ideas of growing gnarsDAO brand into the music space, i contacted DFreshmaker to see how we can get together a cohort of web3 musicians to experiment with cc0 music.

We came up with this idea of having 5 musicians to create a gnarsDAO EP, thats will be released as an Open edition collaborating with all the communities where these artists are apart of.

1. Jack Frost | Alien DJ (@NftFrost)

Jack Frost is an Alien DJ from a distant planet. He is the Founder and CEO of Jack Frost Labs, a Metaverse Entertainment company. Jack is widely recognized as one of the most innovative music artists in web3. He has sold out 10X NFT collections and performed hundreds of Metaverse concerts. He has built a robust community of fans and supporters and is known as one of the top music NFT artists in the world.

2. Ambi3 (@AmbieNFT)

After touring in hardcore bands for two decades, Ambi3 has settled into his synth cave and become one of web3s music’s earliest producers, first in 2017 on the Steem blockchain as drum_operator and later through top ranked OpenSea Music NFT, AmbieNFT. Ambi3’s music has been featured prominently in major placements on HBO, Netflix and TBS and accompanied games from Microsoft and Twisted Pixel. Wherever crypto music boundaries are being pushed, Ambi3 will be found.

3. Jadyn Violet (@JadynViolet)

Jadyn Violet grew up in New Jersey with a dream. Dropping out of college in pursuit for something greater, he navigated the underground music scene and rose against doubters as an innovator. Now he is an interdisciplinary creative using unconventional technology to pave the way for future generational artists.

4. Bobby Yaps (@BobbyYapsNFT)

Bobby Yaps is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music educator from New York. Bobby has over 20 years of experience in the New York City and Greater New York live music scene, and has extensive experience as a studio musician/vocalist and freelance composer. He has also collaborated with dozens of artists in many styles. Currently, Bobby is focusing much of his musical efforts on web3 as the creator and composer of the music and metaverse project, Soundscapes NFTs, and plans to release a rock album on the blockchain in 2023.

5. The GX Universe (@TheGXUniverse)

Manin Gauba, also known as Gx, is an American rapper, director, and animator. He first began his career in 2018, filming interviews with Dj Drewski and Hip Hop Mike on Hot 97. In 2021 he founded ‘The Gx Universe’, an independent, multimedia studio redefining what it means to be an independent artist in today’s day and age. By combining music, cinematic visuals/animation, and AR/VR technology to create immersive experiences, Gx is raising the bar and pushing the boundaries as he reshapes the way we think of and consume media.

DFreshmaker is a staple of the web3 music scene, finding his way into the ecosystem in September of 2021. DFresh has been instrumental in helping several musicians plan for and release music NFTs, as well as has been planning metaverse and physical concerts during this time frame. Artists Dfresh has worked with include Jack Frost, The Polish Ambassador and Grace Weber, among many others. Events include the 2022 NFT NYC Alien Invasion at IMI Studios, the Superlounge house party during Art Basel Miami and curating a stage during the 2nd Annual Metaverse Music Festival inside Decentraland.

How will impact be made?

Music and extreme sports is like peanut butter and jelly, they all go well together, having gnarsDAO starting to play in the music NFT scene while creating culturally relevant music that can be used in the cc0 nature is a perfect way to fullfill the virtous cycle

When will it be done?

After the success of Proposal, transactions to deal with the dispersing of ETH (3ETH/6 people) = everyone gets 0.5ETH upfront! Then wen we are ready to mint the cc0 EP, 50% will go back to gnars treasury + 50% will be shared amongst ourselves, plus proposer included! Track EP should be ready for debut after 2 weeks of Transaction executions. All Artwork created + music will be made available on nounsounds.wtf

Why should we?

This 5 Track EP is going to be auctioned off as an Open edition for 69 hours and gnarsDAO gets back 50% as usual, but the rest is split between everyone else who has worked on the project, even us who are putting it together. having a 2.69% royalty on a cc0 music piece is kinda like having a house which pays you rent non stop
