TL;DR

Requesting 6.66 ETH for Volky to complete a series of technical upgrades that further decentralise Gnars and prepare us for the obstacles ahead.

This proposal reimburses 0xigami.eth with 3 ETH for this transaction and pays volky.eth the remaining 3 ETH for delivery.

I’m also asking for 0.66 ETH to cover miscellaneous expenses incurred by Volky, such as deployment gas refunds.

Here’s an overview of the tasks Volky is helping us with. I have already paid him 3 ETH upfront to commence work with an expected lead time of 2-3 weeks.

  • Replace auction house to include time extensions

  • Migrate gnosis safe and snapshot to DAO executor

    • Gnars V2 as main voting token (regular weight)
    • Gnars OG as 2nd voting token (double weight)

• Frontend upgrades

  • Update content where required
  • Deploy voting and delegation ui
  • Show auctions until gnarving
  • Add download PNG button
  • Display traits on mobile
  • Resolve .⌐◨-◨ names

• Backend upgrades

  • Migrate our hosting to Vercel
  • Setup auto deploy new builds
  • Refactoring and optimisation

Additional considerations

Volky has taken a careful and considered approach to planning for the changes. Our discussion has led to a number of gas optimisations, an innovative approach to our dual token voting arrangement (OG and V2), building out a test suite, and getting our GitHub setup properly with a full mono-repo like Nouns DAO.
