Hello guys! I’m Lucas Rocha, 28 years old, started surfing at 8 and still more excited to do it than ever, nowadays though, I usually chase bigger waves. I got into the Blockchain world in 2018 and I currently work as a community builder in some projects, such as NXF Bodyboard and Surfhive.

NXF was founded in 2005 and it’s a collective of brazilian bodyboarders focused on hunting big waves and creating content about it. The collective became notorious in Brazil and around the world after discovering and surfing the AVALANCHE - the gnarliest wave in Brazil. (one wave at Avalanche surfed by me in 2021)

Community Building

I’ve been working as a community builder at NXF Bodyboard since june 2021, when we entered the Web3 atmosphere and it’s been amazing. We were approved for a 10k USD grant from Harmony Protocol to develop educational work involving Big surf, Web3, NFTs and Blockchain. Since then, I’ve worked organizing meetups, doing presentations, development of NFT drops and press releases. I’m also responsible for the treasury management at NXF.

Surfing is a long time passion. Me and my friends have been creating content of our action since before the Gopros became a thing, the idea was to take the footage of what we did in the sea, edit it, and show it to the biggest number of people we could.

I’m still doing (kind of) the same crazyness when it comes to content creation, being more specific, joining surf and Web3 is exactly what I’ve been working on in the last few years. In April this year we created our first NFT collection as an experiment on how we could interact with communities and support our project using Web3 platforms. In June we launched our 2nd collection about a wave we discovered and surfed for the 1st time in 2012 (10 years ago) and named it ‘2012 - Treasury in Vitoria Bay’

I’m really excited to be part of GNARS and Nouns community and thankful to Gami after getting my first Gnar (Gnar 640), which I baptized as aquarium head! ahahaha

Sponsorship proposal

It would be an honor to be part of the select team of Gnars extreme athletes and help this community grow and bring even more impact on society. I propose 3 ETH for 6 months, which would be headed to: 1) content creation and the logistics needed to produce it, 2) cost of living for 6 months, 3) merch creation (Nounish hoodies, hats, shirts, stickers).

◎ In return, I commit to deliver consistent Nounish content on social media (spreading ⌐◨-◨) and work on bringing Gnars to notoriety in every community I’m part of.

◎ NXF Bodyboard social media profiles (IG, YT) would also leverage Nounish content (since Luiz Haddad, Gnars Team Member, is also part of NXF and the content we produce fits exactly into “extreme sports” subject - enabling total sinergy).

◎ And at last but not least, Nounish merch (⌐◨-◨) would be always on my boards, hoodies, tshirts or hats, in any media I upload. Gotta be Nounish!

I would also become the 2nd member of Surfhive to be on the Gnars team along with @luizhadad to take the surf and bodyboard flag on!
