Skatehive has been around since late 2017 early 2018 and our primary focus is onboarding skateboarders to web 3 the easiest way, educating them about blockchain and partnering up with various projects so we can make more blockchain tools available to the skateboarding community.

Our decentralized ethos can’t be questioned since we’re building our community with commitment and passion for almost 5 years, surviving bear markets and rewarding skateboarders with hundreds of dollars weekly thanks to the trust we’ve earned as a community on Hive blockchain!

We at Skatehive believe Gnars is showing the same Web 3 ethos and after various talks Skatehive Council (knowhow92,web-gnar,howdarylroll,vlad) decided to draft this proposal so we can start bridging those 2 communities together.

Decentralized Sponsorship

This model is another disruption of the traditional sponsorhip model. Instead of supporting one skater at a time we are going to use blockchain power to support a network of skaters by dPoS curatorship.

GNARS INJECTION

Gnars account on Hive buy 3 ETH worth of Hive, stake them and vote on skateboarding posts inside Skatehive community.

Thanks to Hive’s tokenomics, no Hive tokens leave the Gnars wallet when it’s account upvotes skate content. Hive token rewards are coming from the Hive “Rewards Pool”, a pool filled daily with newly minted Hive. The more Hive Power(staked Hive) a user has in their wallet, the more Hive tokens they can “take” from the Hive Reward Pool and give to posts they upvote.

As discussed in Discord Forum we are going to ask 3 ETH for swapping for HIVE.

3 ETH ~ 10000 Hive ~ $0.20/vote

Votes might look small compared to the initial investment but the more votes Gnars account gives to content the more returns it gets thanks to Hive tokenomics.

Using the price of Hive at 0.36, Hive’s current token supply, as well as the average of curation rewards over time, we’d say Gnars account can get between 5.574% and 7.353% APR depending if we look at the last 30 days during the bear, or the last 138 days.

This doesn’t include price changes, or the fact that HP is actually compounding as Gnars account receives curation rewards. Or the 3% paid out in interest to HP holders nor the author rewards from Gnars account posts which would actually make the apr, or apy much higher, but we admittedly just don’t know how to calculate that.

An average estimation would be around 10-11% APR for an initial 3 ETH investment. Keep in mind that those Hive will never leave Gnars hive account wallet and they just keep giving, to both the community and Gnars wallet.
