Summary:

In an effort to become an environmentally responsible business, I propose that for each studio drop we look to offset our carbon emissions by 5x.

This would combat the typically large footprint that NFT’s & proof of work consensus mechanisms typically have on the environment.

This would also differentiate ourselves vs a number of platforms that do not do this.

Risks:

Not doing this encourages the negative image that NFT’s & crypto has towards environmentalists.

This will vary based on computation & volume of any given drop.

Based on calculations provided by @ike, Mind the Gap’s blockchain usage (minting, txs, trading) so far has emitted 30 metric tonnes of carbon (low estimate). Times this by 5 and we reach a low carbon footprint of 150 tonnes which we would look to offset.

Carbon credits via offsetra = $4.83 per tonne, making our burden $724.5

I suggest we round this to $1,000 to be safe
