Summary

In addition to being a governance token and the benefits conveyed from projects launched by the DAO (such as gm.studio whitelisting), many would argue that community is one of the strongest value propositions of holding a gmDAO token. Members benefit from a shared sense of belonging, the network of the DAO members, education, outreach, promotion, and more. The problem is that we as a DAO have never created a formal structure for conveying that value proposition internally, or to the public at large. Having an employed person geared toward this effort can shift the false perception that a gmDAO token is solely a mint pass for gm.studio and highlight the community as a core strength.

Proposal: Hire Brandon Harvey, aka calbear.eth, as Community Engagement Manager for gmDAO as per the terms below.

Payment: 3 month retainer, 120 hours/month at $40 per hour rate

Tasks & Duties:

• Members Spaces: Create content for, promote, and host a weekly Spaces from the gmDAO Twitter including guest speaker members, founders, and communities. Open to the public.
• Product and Security Education AMAs: Host a weekly Infosession/AMA in the Discord to inform members of products, security, and other relevant topics. When possible, get members in early for product beta testing and feedback loops.
• NFT Project AMAs: Host founders and project leads for AMAs in the Discord to meaningfully describe their projects. This would complement the work of the Collaboration Manager.
• Partnerships: Use the gmDAO Twitter account for outreach and realization of DAO partnerships, including but not limited to product access, platforms and events. Form long-term relationships in order to introduce gmDAO and our products to other communities and expand member networking opportunities. Attend joint AMAs/Spaces, and create distributable content for collaborations.
• Promotion: Create and share tasteful social media threads and content for gmDAO and our products directly from the gmDAO Twitter account, and engage community members through calls to action.
• Events: Upon DAO approval for travel/accommodation funding, attend in-person events as a presence representing gmDAO. Coordinate itineraries, accommodations, reservations, etc for DAO member meetups.
• Evaluating Success Metrics: Tracking KPIs over retainer period to share with the DAO.

*Important note: Some of these proposed functions may overlap with existing DAO employees, however they will not impede or overstep those functions.

Estimated hourly breakdown across these responsibilities are as follows:

• Content: 5 hours per week
• Promotion: 8 hours per week
• Outreach: 5 hours per week
• Spaces: 2 hours per week
• Discord Infosession/AMA: 3 hours per week
• Partnership coordination: 5 hours per week
• Tracking KPIs: 2 hours per week

*Note: Some of these hours overlap amongst tasks and duties

Non-exhaustive list of metrics the Community Engagement Manager will track to help measure impact of the role:

• Direct: community polling, feedback channel, member success stories
• Twitter: followers, average views/comments per post
• Spaces/Discord AMAs: live listeners, recording listeners, member speakers, partner attendance
• Partnerships: contacts, in-discussion, inked, promoted

How have you already contributed to the DAO?

I have been a constant contributor to the DAO since very early. Many of the tasks in this proposal are tasks that I have taken on voluntarily, and which I believe have already proven valuable to members. In addition, I have contributed to discussions on business development, DAO incorporation, several proposals, and ideation of working groups. I would hope it is apparent, but my devotion to the DAO is strong and enduring.

How do you want to contribute to the DAO going forward?****

There is no organization that I would like to help build more than gmDAO. I am always impressed by how far we’ve come, but always believe there is more to be done. I would like to continue ideating new work groups for additional revenue sources, building on network avenues for members to succeed, and mostly, fostering the unique environment of the gmDAO community.
