Summary:

This proposal is drafted to propose delegation of votes to another wallet. This would allow people to delegate to one of their own wallet or to someone else’s wallet.

Pros :

People can delegate their voting power to their hot wallet, which should allow increased security and participation by a lot as you don’t have to get your HW wallet to vote each time. They can also delegate to the member of their choice, who might be more aware of current proposals/discussions.

Risks:

Delegating to wallets other than yours means some delegates will potentially centralize great voting power. This centralization of votes could also makes us more vulnerable to malicious actors.

Mitigation of risks : People can still vote even if their vote is delegated. If the owner and the delegate both vote on the same proposal, delegate’s vote is automatically cancelled. Giving members an easier access to their voting power also means we can be more reactive to any malicious governance attack.

We’d be using snapshot delegation.
