[GIP 147] Account for DAO-owned GEAR in Circulating Supply
Proposal: The DAO will officially adopt the viewpoint that DAO-owned GEAR is part of the circulating supply.
Execution: Contributors should include DAO-owned GEAR in any future circulating supply references. They must also contact third-party data platforms (e.g., CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap) to ensure inclusion and update all official documentation references to circulating supply. Ov3rkoalafied and Mugglesect will identify and oversee necessary updates to internal and external resources.
Motivation: The motivation arises from this discussion: https://discord.com/channels/841203475606011905/865937984691372072/1248250170554974268. Generally, a proposal to spend GEAR can be created, voted on, and executed in short order at any moment with no specific limitations. In fact, many proposals do actively seek to spend these tokens to improve the DAO.
An increased circulating supply will increase the market cap, but it will also result in a higher mcap/FDV ratio. Ultimately both of these do not change the fundamental analysis of gearbox and only affect various narratives of crypto participants.
This is a simple proposal aiming to address a small point of clarity for future comms.
