Proposal for DAO Token Redemption Program

By 0x1Bf2...b4E02d

Summary This proposal aims to initiate a token redemption program where the DAO allocates 25 ETH to be distributed equally among all DAO members who participate by sending their DAO tokens to the DAO vault. The redemption period will last for at least two weeks. At the end of this period, the 25 ETH will be evenly distributed back to the addresses that participated in the token redemption.

Objectives

  1. Token Circulation Reduction Reduce the number of circulating DAO tokens, potentially increasing their value.

  2. Fair Exit Opportunity Provide DAO members with a fair opportunity to exit their position by redeeming their DAO tokens for ETH.

Program Details

Token Redemption Period All tokens sent to the founders’ dao wallet before the announced end date will be accepted. The official end date will be announced on the founder’s dao twitter account. The end date will be 2 weeks after the initial announcement.

Twitter account: @foundersdao

Redemption Mechanics

  1. DAO Wallet: Members will send their DAO tokens to the designated DAO wallet address:

The wallet Address is: Foundersdao.eth

  1. Distribution: After the end date, the 25 ETH will be distributed equally among all the addresses that participated by sending in DAO tokens.

Participation Guidelines

  • Minimum/Maximum Tokens: There is no minimum or maximum number of tokens required for participation.
  • Deadline: Only tokens sent before the end date will be eligible for the redemption program.

Calculation and Distribution

  1. Calculation: At the end of the period, the total number of DAO tokens sent to the DAO wallet will be calculated.
  2. Distribution Formula: Each participating wallet will receive an equal share of the 25 ETH, calculated as follows:

Eth per Token = ( 25 eth ) / (# of tokens Received)

Each participating wallet will then receive: ETH per Wallet = Number of DAO Tokens Sent by the Wallet × ETH per Token

  1. Distribution Date: The ETH distribution will be initiated within 7 days after the end of the redemption period.

Benefits

  • Token Supply Control: Reduces the overall supply of DAO tokens in circulation, potentially benefiting the remaining token holders.
  • Fair Exit: Provides a structured and fair mechanism for members who wish to exit their position in the DAO.

Implementation

The multisig team will be responsible for distributing the eth for the proposal. The founders dao twitter account will publish the distribution list at least one day prior to the dispersal for review.

Risks and Considerations

  • Market Impact: Sudden changes in DAO token supply and demand could impact token value.
  • Participation Rate: The effectiveness of the program depends on member participation.

Conclusion The token redemption program provides a fair and transparent mechanism for reducing the supply of dao tokens. This proposal seeks approval to proceed with the outlined plan.
