DOPE DAO OPERATING AGREEMENT

As you all know we are underway with the process of registering the DAO as a not for profit LLC with MIDAO in the Marshall Islands. Foundational to this process is the creation of the Operating Agreement. This agreement outlines how the DAO functions, how we govern and manage ourselves as a Member Managed Limited Liability Company. The content of this agreement is important to all Members of DOPE DAO. As described in the Operating Agreement, if you own a DOPE Token then you are a member of the DAO with Rights and Responsibilities. Amongst other things the agreement sets out the Purpose of the DAO, the Governance Mechanisms and some of the administrative burdens we are required to keep up. So it is important that all Members are conversant with this document.

For the purposes of undertaking the ‘ordinary and usual decisions concerning business affairs’ you will notice that the Operating Agreement describes the establishment of Core Units to complete these tasks. We can imagine the DAO as a “Permissionless” and “Autonomous” Ship at sea, and we all have a say toward where it is piloted via our portion of the 8000 DOPE Tokens. However, at this stage there is a manual requirement for some Members to take responsibility for ‘inputting’ these commands into the auto pilot dashboard up in the bridge. For example we need to effectively manage accounting and treasury requirements, community and community development as well as a portion of technical administration as we grow. The intent is that we will begin to implement this plan in short order to meet our obligations and build upon our emerging structural advancements.

But before we get too far ahead of ourselves! Of course, the first step is to run this Operating Agreement through our Official Proposal Process (OPP) – Yes I am Naughty by Nature. It is by virtue of community discourse and vote that we give this Agreement the Legitimacy it needs.
