Verified Managers need to hold xDG
(after overwhelming support in the previous proposal, but not able to reach 10M, maybe due to the fact there wasn’t enough time to vote over the weekend, I resubmit the proposal):
Currently, there is a google doc in DG discord where people can apply to be verified managers. This DG program started as a way to shift away from several managers offering management services and who would later turn out to be cheaters, or, owners using manager accounts to cheat without suffering the full consequences.
Basically, after being verified, the DG team will give a “verified manager” role, and place the names of those people in a channel, so owners can easily find them.
This program is great, and managers are needed. Managers also get publicity from this, and are able to attract more owners.
But we also want managers who are bringing a financially positive contribution for the ecosystem. When a manager charges ei:15-20%, that is ice not going to the owner and going to the manager instead. As any member of this ecosystem, we hope manager reinvest most of their earning.
Proposal: In order to be a “verified manager” a manager needs to hold between 10k and 20k xDG in their main wallet(s). The team will set/pick/change what amount is necessary to be verified. The team will check if verified managers maintain the necessary amount. To give time for all managers to adapt, this rule will go into effect July15, and a 15days extension can be given, at the teams discretion, to managers who are slowly and constantly accumulating the xDG.
Conclusion: This proposal aims to show that verified managers also have skin in the game. Verified managers should also want this, and it gives a confidence level towards the owners. It is also important for verified managers to have a stake in DG as they interact with owners, and having managers care financially about the future of DG is a plus towards the ecosystem and owner retention/expansion of their guilds.
Running a management guild for over an year, I am confident this rule has the potential to be an added benefit to DG!
